"Where to Go Wednesday" Page Launch TodayHey there! Can you believe it's October already! Today is a very exciting day on several levels. First, it marks the first day of the beginning of Tanya and Elisa's New Mexico Road trip as Tanya begins her journey. In just two days, we will all meet up in Albuquerque, but before that time, Tanya will be LIVE BLOGGING from the road as she makes her way to Sedona! Can't wait to hear everything. Secondly, this is the day that we launch our "WHERE TO GO WEDNESDAY" page. Each Wednesday, we will focus on a different "local" place and/or event throughout the world. We are very excited about this new feature and all the fun locations we will be sharing with you. Please catch today's feature, "Great New York Cupcake Tour is GREAT" which is all about my day in NYC this past Sunday on the Cupcake Walking tour. Fun, Yummy and Informative! So, right about now, Tanya is getting ready to head out -- I am very excited to see her pictures along the way! Of course, traveling does not stop either of us from posting our regular features. And this week Tanya will take the lead tomorrow with a Throwback Thursday story and I will be sharing a Foodie Friday treat! Have a great Wednesday! -E | Hitting the High Road on "Where to Go Wednesday"!So last night when I went to pick up the rental the Headache began with the car they gave me. And if I were the cursing type, I'd be cursing up a storm! Why? What happened? 1) Too small for our road trip 2) I was their last customer so when I tried to immediately call them for something else they were already closed. Brought the car home knowing/expecting the following... 3) Cosette hating it would be an understatement. 4) My mom giving my a lecture.. 5) If I exchange it I lose a couple of hours on our itinerary. 6) We will barely fit in the car once the bags are all loaded! 7) It's a putt-putt mobile! Ugh!!! 👿 8) There's no CD player! So there I was patiently waiting outside of Hertz, before their 7:30am opening time. I exchanged the putt-putt mobile for something a bit larger & more roomy. Everyone is happy! We are almost 2hrs behind schedule, but at least now I have my music, and I won't have Cosette's death stare at the back of my head while I'm driving!! Now I just hope we didn't forget anything! Dave B. sent us off with our daily serving of freshly squeezed citrus juice (orange for the kids, grapefruit for myself). Hugs and kisses. XO See you in Albuquerque on Friday! The kids and I have got both a fun and exhausting day ahead of us, as we'll be driving 462 miles which will take approximately 7 1/2 hours. Keep in mind that this is just the first 462 miles of this 2458 mile trip! Today we'll be stopping at and hiking around the beautiful Bell Rock in the gorgeous red rock country of Sedona, Arizona. It's been almost 4 years since we vacationed in Sedona! The kids will probably have tons of energy by the time we reach there. As, I expect they're going to be sleeping for the entire drive where as I will be in the front seat doing all of the driving, and bebopping along to the tunes as I throw in CD after CD. I packed just about every aside from the kitchen sink, and since we'll be staying in both hotels/condos/private rental properties, I'll be doing more than my share of cooking...so there will be no rest for the wicked! Pictures and more to come later on today on our Facebook and Twitter pages! PLUS: Don't forget to check out our new page 'WHERE TO GO WEDNESDAYS' for lots of fun local and world wide events; plus Elisa's review on the Cupcake tour that she and the girls took over last weekend! I'll be adding even more to that page later today. Until we meet again...Safe Travels, -T |
