Family time in the week aheadHey there! Did you ever have one of those days that you just can't fully wake up? You are awake, but so sluggish and your body wants nothing more than to keep sleeping? Well, I had one of those yesterday. While Tanya was running all over the place and doing so much, I was home ALL day. I managed to design and order my Christmas cards, which was an accomplishment. I also had my den measured for my new carpet by the guys from Lowe's. Tedd and I moved a few wall hangings in the den in preparation for our new wall unit, which will be delivered right after the carpet is installed in the next few weeks. The other great accomplishment was eating lol. I had an amazing breakfast wrap with egg, spinach, red onions, tomatoes and feta cheese AND an delicious hot chocolate from Starbucks! My dinner was tasty too - a fresh, crunchy salad of romaine lettuce, tomatoes, onions, black beans and rice with balsamic vinaigrette. Yup - that was the extent of my day yesterday. So, here it is Sunday! I'm getting very excited since Tanya and the gang will be in New York this week for a short visit before taking off for Iceland. Our plan is to have dinner Wednesday night together and then connect again on Thursday with a little excursion into Queens for some great food and dessert! We'll surprise you on Thursday with all the details of these eateries that serve both vegan and non-vegan delights! I came across this picture from the very first Cousins' road trip ever, last July (2013) to Gettysburg, PA & Williamsburg, VA. We had only just reconnected after 30+ years a few weeks earlier! Should have known then, we'd all be hooked on traveling together!! So, here's to a week of hanging out with family!! Hope you have an amazing week planned!! -E | It's a Beautiful Sunday!Good Day Everyone! Hope everyone has been having a nice weekend so far. My weekend has been pleasant, in a busy sort of way. Luckily I've been productive for the most part! I certainly have a plenty left to do, before going to bed tomorrow night! Pretty sure that I'll get everything accomplished and without having much stress involved! Heading to Rancho Palos Verde today for the kids last IPC performance until we return from our trip. And once we get back, the choir will be in full swing of their Christmas and holiday repertoire. Speaking of Christmas, doesn't it seem like all of the retail stores dive right into playing Christmas music and putting up their decorations on the day after Halloween?! It's like having 2 months of Christmas! Going to the mall yesterday was on my tight schedule, mostly for a few successful surgical strikes. I've got to tell you, the mall was quite bustling and it was one of those visits where I saw a ton of stuff that I wanted! I could've very well spent a fortune shopping for myself, but sadly I refrained. I really don't ever see the harm in picking up an item or two for little 'ol me; but in November and when I'm leaving for this trip in 2 days... the timing is just off and if I allowed myself I would've walked out of there hauling a whole lot more than an item of two!!! I'm am a self admitting Shopoholic and Traveloholic! There I said it! I don't drink, I don't smoke, I say no to drugs, I do my efforts to help save our planet and the animals on it, I eat healthy, and I do my share to help out the economy! (Speaking of which, I have a few more surgical strikes to shop for today. Wish me good luck!) So back to keeping on my tight schedule, we were next off to pick up Cosette for several hours of Girl Scouts related events! I was having quite a difficult time with Cosette expressing how she didn't want to go, and that she doesn't like Girl Scouts. I told her that she didn't have to do the slumber party, and that we'd table a discussion about her quitting. She was good with that and yet once she caught up with the other 7th graders, she was had an absolute blast! The party was held at a place that I've never heard of before, called 'Thrill It'. It's a kids fun activity center, and they have a small ropes course. Cosette was like a trapeze artist up there on that thing and I was VERY jealous as I watched her from below - that's soooo my type of thing! I later also found out that none of the other 7th graders were doing the slumber party either and that a few of them were also thinking about quitting... Has always seemed that this troop has quite an age segregation, and that the girls only enjoy themselves with the ones that are at the same grade level. And yet, while in all other groups that Cosette is involved in, she gets along great with all ages young and old - go figure! That's about it for right now, got lots to do, and I'm hoping to be done for the day earlier than past midnight (like yesterday)! See ya all on Monday, for my last day in SoCal before our Vacation! -T |
