Elisa's Daily Scoop NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: DECEMBER
HEY THERE! Another gorgeous day here on Long Island! Perfect Fall Day, as a matter of fact.
It also happens to be Election Day - so Make Sure You Get Out and VOTE!!!
It's also Travelin' Tuesday here on TC.
I've been trying to figure out what to do about my "cancelled" Disney World Trip for a month now. I was originally supposed to leave for Orlando on October 7th but had my flight cancelled due to Hurricane Matthew.
The kids and I have been going back and forth on the best time to go and with my mom and dad heading down to Boca Raton this month for the Winter, we have been chatting about the idea of combining a Disney World/Boca Raton trip for the same time.
So, here's were we are as of this morning. Of course, it could all change with hotel availability and flight costs.
HERE'S OUR PLAN AS OF TODAY...
Leave for Boca Raton prior to Christmas weekend. Our idea is to then drive north to Disney World on Christmas Day (yes folks!) and spend a few days there to enjoy some fun rides, great food and the Disney spirit.
Our trip will end with us heading back south for the back end of our trip and being with Grandma and Grandpa for New Year's Eve.
Today I'll be checking with Disney to see what is available for accommodations for this time period. Then I'll check airlines. Somehow, I'm not feeling positive about getting great airfares, but you never know.
I will definitely keep you posted.
Stay tuned for tomorrow when I talk about local things to do for November in the cities I spoke about visiting in November: New York City, Rhinebeck, NY and Philadelphia!!
It's a short one for me today.
And get out and vote!!
Tanya's Daily Scoop NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: 7 DAYS
Getting ready for another trip!
Well Folks it's Election Day here in the United States!
I'm definitely stoked that social media will most likely calm down after today and go back to being semi normal. These days my feeds have been BLOWING up with nothing politics and some very ignorant minds.
I'm also very hopeful and pray that we have enough wise citizens who voted for the person that our country needs as the 45th President of the United States of America. May God be with us all!
Now on a much sweeter note, last night after choir rehearsal we finally went to try Hug Life - Anti Milk Ice Cream 'n Stuff in Garden Grove. Dave had told me about this place weeks ago, and we have made a few attempts to go and check it out for ourselves - but happened to go when they've been closed. Guess what folks - the third time wasn't a charm, it was actually the forth time that was a charm and what a charm it was.. Each of us indulged in absolutely delicious Ice Cream. From cups, to cones, to Ice Cream Tacos everything was out of this world!

So let's take a looksie at what's next on the calendar:
Sedona and Scottsdale, Arizona which we leave for in 7 days. It'll be the kids and I for the first few days, and then Dave B. will fly over after work on Friday and spend the rest of the trip with us.
Here are some of the things and possible hikes that we'll be doing:
Brins Mesa - from here you overlook the Secret Canyon Wilderness which one of the most secluded and untouched areas of Sedona
Bell Rock - a favorite that we do each and every visit

We'll also be doing a rough and tumble Jeep Tour through the back country of Sedona - having done tours like this in the past, we are all looking quite forward to the excitement that awaits!
