Thanksgiving Together after 30 YearsHappy Thanksgiving Peeps!!! I hope your day is going just as you had hoped! Mine is starting off terrific! After Tanya left yesterday, things were relatively relaxing except for the fact that Kelsey's fever spiked again. Tedd took her over to the doctor just to see what was happening with this poor kid. The diagnoses: bad cold, possible ear infection brewing. I felt so bad for her! Today, she is back to no fever, but she is so sad that she is sick for the holiday. I told her that sometimes that just happens to us and there is really nothing we can do about it. This explanation didn't really go over too well with her. On the other end of the spectrum, there is Gianna who got to work immediately after arriving home from her half day of school yesterday making a batch of Vegan Pumpkin Cupcakes with vegan Cinnamon "Buttercream" frosting. The whole process was caught on film for her YouTube Channel, MICHELE 16. She publishes it three times a week - Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Today's video is "Get Ready With Me." We did a taste test yesterday and let me tell you, these little sweet delights were delicious!! I know that Tanya and her vegan gang are going to LOVE them. Tedd was up bright and early getting the bird prepped and in the oven. After much debate, he decided to stuff the turkey with stuffing. This is not how we usually make our turkey, but some folks like the stuffing this way. I will also have a full tray of both vegan and non- vegan stuffing as well. This year, we will have two tables because our crowd is a little larger than usual! In total we are sixteen. I set up a special table for all six kids. I received some objections from Gianna about this, but, in the end, we agreed this was the most comfortable option. Everyone should arrive about 4-ish. Tanya and gang are going to the parade this morning one will be coming here after the festivities! Check out her pictures from the 88th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. ----->>>>>>----->>>>>> A few facts about this annual Thanksgiving Day tradition: * Thanksgiving 1924 was the first Parade * More than 3.5 million people in NYC and over 50 million people at home watch the Parade. * This year's Parade will feature more than 8000 participants including school bands, performers and celebrities I wish you all a Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving this year!! I am so grateful for you, our followers for all of your support over the past six months!! See you back here tomorrow! -E | Happy Thanksgiving!Hey Everyone! Let me start by stating how honored I am that you are reading our blog on Thanksgiving! And as always, Thanksgiving falls on a Thursday and here on Travelin' Cousins we always shared TBT stories - we'll I've gotta tell ya that it's my week, and my story is not ready to publish! Sorry. I promise that I will post the Throwback Thursday picture just as soon as it's ready to publish (but chances are that it won't be today!) For now, I hope that you at least enjoy my TBT picture! To give you a quick catch up from yesterday, our gang of four left Elisa's and headed into the city; we had a very long day that was filled with shopping, yummy food, lots of fun, some rain and even some snow! As planned we went to the NYBG Holiday Train Show, and practically had the place to ourselves! I think the rain scared everyone away! YES!!! Thank you weather! Actually even the streets, and shops were quiet... It was actually kinda weird!! This morning I decided that we'd sleep until 6am instead of dragging everyone out before 6am, so instead of getting a front row spot to watch the parade, we'd settle for a second or third row spot! Although the temps weren't all that low, Cosette's poor little feet were freezing again :( The snow, and slush had actually held off until after the parade! Awesome! Thanks :) Once the parade had ended and the snow began to fall we had taken a beautiful stroll through the city, and then made it back to our hotel to regroup. Next up are the Thanksgiving Festivities at Elisa's!! Wishing you all a wonderful Holiday that's full of Gratitude, Love, Appreciation, Thanks and Giving! See ya back here tomorrow, -T |
