Even the stores, and the parking lots which you'd imagine filled with crazed shoppers are unusually calm and civil! Did the crazed holiday shoppers of SoCal and NY at some point switch places?? It's been a good 14-15 years since I've had a Thanksgiving here in NY, and maybe it's because I'm in Long Island - but things just seem so much more laid back then in the past! Elisa and I spent the day running around, taking care of errands and shopping yesterday; we even found a Vegan Bakery (that I hadn't known about) and picked up some yummy treats!!! With supervision, the kids stayed home with Kelsey (who was still feeling under the weather). I think they really appreciated a day to kick back and relax! After coming back to Elisa's with several packages to unload and groceries to put away. We all had a quick dinner together, before Elisa and I ran out again to hit up the Italian Market, and meet up with Denise and Danielle for grocery shopping excursion, and some Red Mango (which serves Frozen Yogurt and Fresh Squeezed Juices - I'm sure that you can guess what I ordered!) Hanging out with the girls was a lot of fun, full of plenty of laughter and story telling! Looking forward to another fun night as Denise and Danielle head over here to join Elisa and I in the kitchen, as we all pitch in with the prepping for the big meal! I'm sure there will be plenty more good times shared, laughter, and never ending story telling, as we chop away! Dave B. will be flying out on the Red-Eye tonight, arriving first thing tomorrow morning, there will be lots more excitement and fun to report as we get closer to the Big Feast and the rest of this activity and fun filled week planned in NYC!! Stay tuned, vote for us, and meet me back here tomorrow! -T |
