Hanging with my cousins!Hi there! Welcome to a new week! It was so much fun waking up this morning with Tanya and the gang! After their arrival from Iceland yesterday, they made themselves at home with us for three nights. This morning Tanya was up bright and early, which I was so happy about since she joined me for my morning coffee klatch at Starbucks with Denise. Gianna was thrilled since Cosette was up as well as she got dressed for school. I really love that we are spending this week together! So, in spite of the disgusting weather today, Tanya and I are headed off to do Thanksgiving shopping at Whole Foods today. I'm pretty sure we'll be able to get most of what we need on our list. We'll also stop by a new local vegan bakery to pick up some goodies for Thursday. Later this evening, Tanya and I will be meeting Denise at the Italian Specialty store for fresh pasta, olives, cheese and other items to finish up the shopping. Most of the cooking will be done tomorrow at my house, throughout the day. Then, in the evening, Denise will be joining us to continue the cooking fest. Wine will be a big part of the evening as well - hopefully, the food will turn out even better! :-) Well, off we go!! More pictures of the gang planned for tomorrow's daily!! Have fun today!! -E | Back in New York! What day is it?! Ya know, I have really been struggling with this question ever since I left SoCal earlier this month. All the days just run into each other and it's as thought time just doesn't really exist. But then again, isn't that always the case when you are traveling? So I guess it's the Monday before Thanksgiving; can you believe that the Holidays are already here upon us??? And that Christmas Eve is only 1 month away!!! Holy cow, there is so much to do and I still have over a weeks worth of vacation here in NYC... So you can bet your bottom dollar that I'm not gonna worry about it or stress until I return back to the grind! Haha The kids and I landed at JFK last night after an amazing vacation in Iceland; and to our surprise Elisa, Tedd, and Gianna were waiting for us right outside of customs! That was such a sweet surprise! I've gotta tell you that the novelty of me arriving/visiting/what-have-you has definitely and entirely worn off with everyone else that I know! I'm lucky enough to get picked up on time, a quick hug and kiss hello, and then back to business! LMAO Now really, I'm sure that I'm always missed (because come on - what's not to miss!), but it has been years since we've had that type of welcoming at the airport - and I mean many many years! It was very appreciated to see my cousins happy smiling faces as we walked out of the baggage claim - which btw took forever to come out!!! And now here I am today, sitting at Starbucks with Elisa, and getting a glimpse of her morning routine! How fun, now I can truly imagine being there when I hear all about her mornings! Plus as a bonus, I even got to meet Elisa's good friend Denise! There was lots of chatting and even a little bit about the upcoming holiday plans, menu, shopping and remaining chores/errands, etc...and now we are off to accomplish getting through the long list of to do's! But since we are doing everything together it will be more like a fun day rather than a chore day :) Hoping that you having a fun day too! Until we meet again, -T |
