A Change in PlansHowdy! How has your weekend been? Good I hope. Mine has really been great - not a minute to spare, being very productive and having fun along the way. Today the momentum continues. Have a decent size to do list for doing things around the house this morning. I still have a number of things to get accomplished before Tanya's arrival tonight and Thanksgiving later this week. I'm was originally hoping to get everything accomplished by mid afternoon, and then head over to Danielle's to wish my nephews a happy birthday. Gianna and Kelsey have been waiting all week to see the boys, as it's been almost two weeks since we all hung out. But, low and behold, I woke up this morning to Kelsey having 101.5 fever! I'm slightly in shock that this is happening today and this week of all weeks. Murphy's Law, I guess. So, all plans have changed. We will be staying home. I'll be nursing this kid and getting more done around the house than I had previously planned. Later this evening, I'll be driving over to the airport to pick up Tanya, Cosette and Dominic who will be flying into New York from their Iceland trip. I have my cousin trio staying in my attic which is like a little apartment, with it's own bathroom. This way if there are germs lurking around the house, they will be good and secluded from the sick people! I am totally lovin' Tanya's pictures from their experience at the Blue Lagoon - especially the one with the rejuvenating clay body mask!! ------->>>>>>>----->>>>>>>> Well, folks, this is a short one since I'm doing double time here trying to get things in order for Tanya's visit. The next few days will be filled with shopping, cooking, and preparing for the holidays. Not to mention some fun activities including the New York Botanical Garden Holiday Train Show, a visit to the Statue of Liberty, a Birthday Dinner for Dominic and the Broadway Show, Honeymoon in Vegas. Please send some positive wishes for Kelsey to recover quickly!! See ya back here tomorrow!! -E | Wonders of the Blue LagoonWell 10 days ago we left NYC and the states on a journey across the Atlantic and into the unknown, to the far off land of Iceland! Not exactly knowing what to expect, but desiring to check something big (Northern Lights) off of my bucket list! After 9 days of disappointment with not witnessing the Aurora Borealis. I came to realize that coming here and seeing everything else was far more satisfying than I could've ever imagined, and that those darn lights took a back seat in my priority list. Well, it turns out that on our last night here, and our last attempt for this trip to see the Northern Lights, they finally made an appearance! I must admit that I didn't take a single picture willingly - instead I chose to enjoy the viewing not though the camera lens. Sorry. Maybe next time. All in all this has been a seriously spectacular and awesome vacation! And as for today, our last day here (we leave for NYC later tonight), we are heading to the iconic Blue Lagoon - which happens to top just about every to do list for Iceland. One of the 25 wonders of the world as listed by National Geographic! And it was a delightful relaxing, picturesque, and amazing experience! We smeared on the rejuvenating clay body mask from head to toe, soaked in the therapeutic aqua blue milky waters, and prepared our minds & bodies for the journey back home. In addition to the souvenirs, I hoping that we take back a piece of Iceland within ourselves. There is much to admire within this peaceful nation of people. Perhaps a scoop full of their patience, a dash of their happiness, and a spattering of their kindness has rubbed off on each of the visitor and we can bring that back to share with our fellow Americans! Bon Voyage! The next part of our vacation will consist of family fun visits, holiday treats, birthday celebrations, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, tons of delish food and so much much more!!! Stay tuned & I'll see ya tomorrow! -T |
