Jam-Packed WeekendHappy Saturday! What a lovely day it is today here on Long Island! It's a bit chilly, but it's kind of getting me in the holiday spirt!! Fun Friday Night Parish Party This is proving to be a very busy weekend! Last night we had our annual Parish party. As I told you yesterday, I decided to go at the last minute and had to rush around looking for a dress and then get it altered. Well, I'm sooo glad I decided to attend! We had such a fun time! They held it at the Garden City Hotel and while the place is truly lovely, the food left a lot to be desired. I was disappointed in both the selection of food as well as the overall taste. It just was not what I was expecting. I had my wedding at the Garden City Hotel back in 1997, and one of the things that everyone commented on was the quality and deliciousness of the food. I'm not sure what happened. Even the red wine they served was not good at all. I was "forced" to have Cosmopolitans all night as a result. :-) Overall, it was a very great time! Busy Saturday: Kids Activities & School Event Planning Today, I'm running around with kids' activities and school events. First, Gianna had one of her cooking classes. She is making Macaroons today!!! I really do hope they have some leftovers for me to try. Then, Kelsey has her swimming practice at noon. Today is the first day she will be swimming with the entire team, not just the new members, which she has had two practices with thus far. My afternoon will be spent once again with Maria and Denise, as we are working together to decorate Maria's home for the upcoming School Christmas party which she will be hosting next month. Wine is definitely on the agenda for today as we three sort through her extensive collection of Holiday decor. I have no doubt this will be a great girls' day! New Trip on the Horizon: Okay, so back to travel - Received a call from my sister today telling me all about a wonderful deal that Hilton Honors is having on select travel locations for Honor members. It turns out there is a special (which she immediately signed us up for!) to Las Vegas. The deal? $199 for a 3-night stay at one of Hilton's top 3 properties. How can you beat that. To make matters even better, they throw in a $100 voucher for dinner, 2 free tickets to a show and 5,000 Hilton Honor Points!!! Now all we have to do is figure out when to go! Can't wait to tell Tanya about this girls' weekend and see when we should plan to go in the next six months!!! Tomorrow will be a family day. Going to Danielle's to see my two nephews who both celebrated birthdays this week. Nolan is 12 and Julian is 9. We will probably eat I'm sure it will just be a relaxing day together. In the evening, I will be going to the airport to collect Tanya, Cosette and Dominic and begin our week-long visit with them here in New York. So, looking forward to seeing my favorite cousins!! Here's to a great day to you!!! -E PS: Don't forget to vote for us---->>>>>>> | Saturday SillinessHellooooo everyone! I decided late last night to adjust my plans for today, so that I could spend some quality time with Priscilla. I mean come on we are traveling together all the way out here in Iceland and yet are hardly doing anything together?! So I allowed the kids to sleep just a tad later and agreed to go to the Reykjavik Flea Market (if you know me, you'd know that I don't do Flea Markets - so this was a huge deal for me to agree to). However, as of this morning Priscilla broke the news to me that she wanted to go horseback instead... I was fuming!!! Umm she was invited to come horseback riding with us from day one and she didn't want to spend the money. And now on the day that I changed my plans and didn't get out early because of it, she wants to go riding??? Well, after several text messages back and forth expressing my level of pissed off-ness with her, she realized that I had made an effort to spend time with her and she decided to hang out with us after-all! So off to the Flea Market it was! After the browsing was said and done, we headed in the direction of Skarfagarour to catch a ferry out to Videy Island and to see the Imagine Peace Tower! Once we got to the nearby island we realized that we almost had the entire island to ourselves! We also realized that they had a fun playground at the center of the island, and so we all let loose and played around like a bunch of kids! That was both unexpected and a lot of fun! Continuing on we visited the Imagine Peace Tower, saw some beautiful scenery and the kids found the perfect beach for skipping stones. Next up, we are gonna try our luck one last time on this visit to Iceland and see if we can find these darn Northern Lights! Here's to a long night - that's successful this time around! See ya back here on Sunday - our last day in Iceland! -T |
