We do hope they serve as inspiration and assistance as you work out your personal itinerary(s). Fun-Filled Friday Tonight we have our annual Parish Party. Of course, I waited till the last minute to decide to what to wear. I tried on a number of dresses in my closet but, naturally, I didn't like the way I looked in any of them. So, last night at 6:30, me and Denise (who is also coming tonight) decided to go shopping for dresses at the mall. Fortunately, we both found something. The problem for both of us was that we needed to get our dresses altered. Luckily, her mother in law is a seamstress who was able to do her's and I have a wonderful seamstress who accommodated me as well. From the seamstress I ran to Lord & Taylor's to get stockings for both me and Denise, since she had to work today; dropped them off to her at work and then hustled over to the hair salon to get my hair done. I know it's going to be fun. Lots of couples from the kids' school and our town will be there, including my dear friend Maria!! Food, wine and dancing - what could be better!! I'll give you the report with pictures tomorrow!! In front of one of the MANY wall murals in Reykjavik! It's Tanya here is Iceland and on today's agenda I have planned a South Shore Adventure!!! This is the perfect trip for outdoor lovers...AKA me! Ya know, when a picture just doesn't do... When you need to experience it for yourself, to be there, to touch it, feel it, see it with your own eyes, breath it in; LIVE IT! Well that's what we are here doing! And for those of you who don't need the full experience and prefer to live through my blog, well I'm here to share it with you first hand! (Mom that's you! lol) We went along the south coast of Iceland; which is one of the country´s most scenic regions! Visited the charming village of Vík where all the forces of nature collide and some of the most iconic of Icelandic scenic attractions are located.  Vik Along the way we be stopped at the beautiful Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where we walked behind it and through to the other side...in the dark!! Luckily Dominic remembered his handy dandy flashlight!   Standing behind the falls. And what would a visit to the Southern Coast be without also stopping at the majestic, amazing and very much-photographed Skógafoss waterfall, getting up close to it and being completely sprayed by the cold mist!!   We got Misted!! Plus got a lovely tour of the Skógar Folk Museum, where we saw and learned how the Icelanders lived in the past, saw and went into the small turf houses and learned about the history of the Icelandic inhabitants.  We did and saw so much, which also included walking up to stunning glaciers, iceberg lakes, black sand coastlines and impressive rock formations!!!    Climbing on Basalt Columns! I'm totally excited all over again from looking at these pictures and sharing my day with you! It was GREAT!!! And don't think for a second that I forget about Foodie Friday - come on now...it's me - I never forget about FOOD!  Click here for the review, and lots of drool worthy pictures!
