Tanya's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY TRAVELING IN: SCOTTSDALE, AZ
Traveling in and around Scottsdale
Howdy Folks! And a warm GREETINGS from Scottsdale, Arizona!
I got to thinking about this coming week with Thanksgiving and all, and I've got soooooooooooooo much to do between the list making (which should already be done - but it's not), the shopping - there are usually a good 8-10 stores that I'll be bopping in and out of, the prep work - ohhhhh the hours that I'll be in the kitchen, and finally the cooking - ohhhhh the hours that will be spent in the kitchen.
I'm not an easily intimidated gal, but yet each and every year the Monday before Thanksgiving really intimidates me. And to top it off our fridge is in major need of being cleaned - like big time. So before I can start putting any of the groceries away, I need to clean out the fridge.
Now the up side of this busy and hectic week is that Dominic's birthday isn't until the following week (Nov. 29), when there are years that it lands on the day after Thanksgiving. And if you've been following along long enough, you'd know that my kids are huge foodies and create a full menu for each and every one of there birthdays - which means I'm back in the kitchen again with another full work load!
So anyhow all that zaniness begins tomorrow, for now let's focus on today and yesterday.
Today happens to be our last day on this trip - which very well might be our last one of the year. We'll be starting out the day with brunch, and then we are heading to Butterfly Wonderland - I can't wait!
As far as yesterday went - it was another lovely day on vacation. We started the day out with some really DELISH breakfast burritos and also managed to grab ourselves a Tsoynami treat for our drive on our way out.
Then it was all about the almost 2 hour drive and heading to Tonto Nature Bridge State Park.

Once there we had opted to take a looksie at the bridge from the viewpoint observations before hiking down to the bottom of the trail and through the bridge - which I hadn't realized was an option.
We scrambled around the rocks and had a great time while doing it - at least Cosette and I did. Dave was actually rather terrified! Poor thing. I told him that for his own safety that perhaps he should just wait until Cosette and I decide to head back in that direction. But then low and behold he decided to follow us and luckily he made it safely to the other side.
Any hike that involves scrambling on rocks does happen to be my favorite type of hike and during this trip, I've found that they are also the hikes that Cosette likes best as well.
As we trekked on through the mist under the bridge and kept our grip on the slick travertine rocks we enjoyed the adventure and then the beauty that awaited us on the other side.
Eventually making our way back up to the gift shop and satisfying all of Dave's postcard needs, we made our way back to Scottsdale. Stopped at our hotel to clean up and then went to dinner before catching up with my friend Nancy and her companion Stefan once again.
We spent the rest of the evening story telling, laughing and reminiscing, until it came time to take Nancy back home and for us to head back to our hotel for some good ol' ZZZs.
As far as today goes, we are just about ready to head out for that brunch that I mentioned and we'll just have to see where the rest of the day takes us.
Hopefully you enjoy your Sunday and meet me back here tomorrow, -T
