BRAND BALLOT'S TOP 100 MOM BLOGS FOR 2018!!
Elisa's New Shoe Deals
Hey guys! What a gorgeous day I woke up to today! I think winter has finally arrived here in New York.
I was out the door early this morning to run some errands and get my hair done. I hate the idea of sleeping in during the winter because the days are so short. Let's Talk Shopping Afterall, it's Shopping Saturday here on Travelin' Cousins!!
The girls and I have been doing our fair share of shopping over the course of the past few weeks. All three of us needed new cold weather digs as well as some fashionable beachwear for our upcoming Christmas trip to Puerto Plata, Dominican republic.
I was so excited to share with you the great deals that we have gotten particularly on our new boots, all of which we purchased from JustFab.com
This online store, if you are not already familiar with, has a huge selection of all fashion items including footwear, clothing and accessories.
If you decide to become a "VIP Member" you take a fashion quiz, for which your sizes and preferences are saved in your account file, plus, as a VIP Member, in addition to round-the-clock access to all the company's exclusive styles, you receive invitations to VIP-only private events and promotions and 30% off retail pricing* all day, everyday! There is a monthly cost of $39.95, however, you are allowed to skip the month and eliminate the charge. In addition your points accrue, which then entitle you to free purchases. The array is huge too! I have been a member for several years now, and have always been satisfied with my purchase this. I also have gotten my girls hooked and considering that we are all around the same shoe size, we are able to share!
Our latest purchase included boots… Many boots! Five in total, collectively! We all treated ourselves to JustFab's "Fuzzies", which are similar to UGGs without the hefty price-tag.
I totally love mine, which I selected 10 in a shorter height. Kelsey‘s black, taller Ozzie‘s are absolutely adorable with their cute hanging pom-poms. In addition we got rain footwear, for which Kelsey and I made good use of this past week with all the rain and wet weather.
I went with duck booties with a super cute plaid pattern, and Kelsey’s are traditional tall rubber boots. I know I will be using her boots here in there, but she was very vocal about not liking my duck boots!
Oh did I mention that Gianna also selected the same pair of fuzzy as me? Lastly, Gianna also needed new flip-flops for our upcoming trip to the Caribbean, making our total shoe purchase 6 pairs in total. So I’m happy to tell you that our total for all 6 pairs totaled $93! was completely stoked!! Kelsey and I also did a bit of shopping during the week, which included a new winter coat for my girl from Forever 21. Unfortunately, the salesgirl inadvertently, the sales girl forgot to remove the security tag and so we need to go back today to have it taken off so Kelsey can finally wear it! Tomorrow will be all about food ... Driving into Brooklyn for the afternoon, we'll hit Milk Bar in Williamsburg and then head over to the Vegan Market at the Market Hotel. I'll give you the full details on Monday. Lastly, I'll be headed to Trader Joe's to do my Thanksgiving meal cooking. Now, to enjoy my my hair blow out!! -Travein' Elisa xoxo |
Back into the swing of things
Welcome to the weekend! Happy Saturday to you. At least I think it's Saturday. LOL
So we managed to get right back into the swing of things immediately following our return to the USA. Last night it was all about going to the movies. The movie of choice was the new Fantastic Beasts - The Crimes of Grindelwald
It was a 9:15p showing and I was concerned at the possibility of dozing off. Which has always been my MO for late movie showtimes.
But last night I think I kind of managed to stay awake for the most part! LOL The movie was good, but unless you are a fan and know who's who and what's going on, then it was a bit difficult to completely follow along. With that being said, Cosette and most of the crew (Dominic, Dave C. and Matt) all enjoyed it. While Dave and I enjoyed it as much as possible. Another thing that I was working on yesterday was sorting through all the OH SO MANY pictures from our China Trip and working on the Thanksgiving menu. We are going to be short a few family members for Thanksgiving - as they are traveling back east for a week of visiting. And it seems that some of the gang I'm left here with are not wanting as lavash of a spread as we are accustom to. Although I am the one who does all of the work. I am the one not at all happy with the idea of cutting back on the menu! Party poopers. So as you may or may not realize, I can be the ALL OR NOTHING type of gal. And thus I was quite disturbed with the idea of "cutting back"! This made me want to cancel Thanksgiving. And if it would only effect me, then no biggie. But my kids really love Thanksgiving... They really just love all of the food and their momma's home cooking!
So I was definitely upset. And with the drama, I decided that perhaps we should plan to travel over next Thanksgiving rather than stay local and at home... Now to figure out where on earth to go!
I mentioned to you that I was also sorting through photos and while I still have quite a bit to organize I figured that I would share with you a few pics that I chose to already share on social media:
As far as this weekend goes, there is really nothing special going on. I will continue working on the menu and run a few errands - mostly shopping.
Basically it is the calm before the storm. Next week is going to be quite HECTIC! THE TRAVELING ADVENTURES OF MY CHECKERED VEST
One last thing I want to mention.
While checking into our hotel in Shanghai and sorting through my suitcase, I had noticed that my trusty and quite cute vest was missing!!!
I had only wore it once thus far on the trip and that was in Beijing. But we were now in Shanghai. This is just the type of thing that I obsess over and I started to obsess!
I contacted our tour guide from Shanghai and she went ahead to contact the hotel that we checked out from. A short while later my vest was found. Now to get it back to me...
The vest was sent on it's way traveling through China in my hope of it's arrival before my departure. However I came to find out that the vest would not arrive until the day after we left!!
Luckily there were two couples from San Diego who had extended their trip by a few days and had agreed to bring the vest back with them to California. They reached out to me today and they do indeed have my vest. What a relief! Okay that's about it for me today. Ciao 4 now, -Travelin' Tanya |
