Throwback Thursday with Cousins!It's Throwback Thursday and the cousins are all together in New York this week! Yesterday it was a totally fun get together. While I was at the back specialist with Gianna, Tanya, Cosette and Dominic surprised Kelsey by picking her up from Brownies!! She had no idea whatsoever that they were going to be there! Check out Tanya's Daily for the surprise pictures! ---->>>>> As for me, I started off my day dropping Kelsey off at school where they were kicking off Operation Christmas Child so the students were allowed to dressed down today.  Dress down day at school today Then it was immediately off to the radiologist to get Gianna an x-ray on her back. Thank God from the initial viewing of the films, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with her bones. We'll be back to the specialist next Wednesday for her assessment. So, as for the rest of the day, so excited to be meeting up with Tanya and the gang in Astoria Queens for a day of ... yup - eating. Tanya's got the scoop today on a trip from back in the day. Looking forward to hearing all about it! As adults, we really did not take all that many family trips together, but I did find this photo from a rare vacation to Barbados in 1993. Happy Throwback Thursday to you!  Me and Mariah (Circa 1992) Let me bring you up to speed: The kids and I spent yesterday morning hanging out and visiting with my Grandma and Dad. We then went over the Roosevelt Field (one of my favorite shopping malls) to pick up my new piece of luggage (replacing the one I took here that got very damaged).   While at the mall Cosette and I got a really bad urge to go shopping! But since we were short on time, we only went in for the one surgical strike. Hoping to squeeze in some shopping time when we get back to NYC after the BIG trip! Next was making a quick stop into a health food store, which turned out to be a bust, as they didn't have what I was looking for. Then we were off for the surprise pick up of Kelsey from her Brownies meeting. We waited just outside the door until the kids wrapped up their meeting and then snuck in for the surprise! Kelsey was super stoked, ran and jumped into Cosette's arms and they spun around hugging!   The following few hours were spent at Elisa's. The kids got to relax (i.e. play), Elisa, Rebecca, and I sat around story telling, chatting, and laughing up a storm! We all sat around the table and had a lovely meal, while trying to figure out the best sitting arrangements for Thanksgiving. I put my reservations in for a seat with a good view! LOL  Before it got too late, we left and headed back to my Grandma's. Once back, we all sat around the dinner table and ate some more! The kids even had second and third helpings!!! Can you tell that the kids and I have some very healthy appetites! Shortly after our arrival, my cousin Carlos came over for a visit, and the storytelling and laughs continued until close to 2am! Good times!!! Now, as for today I'll be taking my Grandma grocery shopping, where I'll be picking up some needed staples that we'll be taking with us to Iceland tomorrow... I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S ONLY A DAY AWAY!!! My Aunt Irene will be meeting us at Fairway and then coming back to the house with us for a visit. The kids and I will step out for a few hours to meet up with Elisa and the girls in Astoria for lunch and a sweet treat (names to be revealed tomorrow). And then back to Maspeth for us, to spend the last night with my Grandma and Dad before leaving. My Grandma will be heading to Florida next Wednesday, so I probably won't get to see her again until next summer. Carlos is gonna swing by again tonight for some more laughs and fun!!
