Headed to The Big Apple to see Little Shop of Horrors
O-M-G - it's a cold one today!!! Drove Gianna to school this morning and took a glance at the temperature reading on the car and my eyes almost bulged out!! 21 degrees - and that's fahrenheit people!
Yesterday I was debating whether I should drive or we gals should take the train today depending on the temps outside. Well, ya know, I think we're going to brave the weather and take the train. The end result is that we will be walking about 12 blocks or so after exiting Penn Station. Honestly, I think a good brisk walk will do us both good. Not to mention, the train is so much more dependable. Driving into Manhattan from Long Island is always a crap shoot - will there be traffic getting into the city? How is the cross-town traffic? Where to find parking? Not to mention, it ends up being more costly with parking and tolls. So, the Long Island Rail Road it is!! We will have to get going pretty soon as we are going to a matinee of the Off-Broadway revival of Little Shop of Horrors. I'll leave you with a short synopsis of Little Shop of Horrors for those of you who have not seen the play (or the 1986 movie):
Little Shop of Horrors Story Synopsis:
Seymour Krelborn is a nerdy orphan working at Mushnik's, a flower shop in urban Skid Row. He harbors a crush on fellow co-worker Audrey Fulquard, and is berated by Mr. Mushnik daily. One day as Seymour is seeking a new mysterious plant, he finds a very mysterious unidentified plant which he calls Audrey II. The plant seems to have a craving for blood and soon begins to sing for his supper. Soon enough, Seymour feeds Audrey's sadistic dentist boyfriend to the plant and later, Mushnik for witnessing the death of Audrey's ex. Will Audrey II take over the world or will Seymour and Audrey defeat it? See ya back here tomorrow pictures from the day!! -Travelin' Elisa xoxo |
