Hey there!!

Saturday here on TC!  

Boy, did I have a wonderful surprise today.  My friend - one of the "barn mom's" offered to drive my girls out east today along with her two daughters.  

I have never had a break on a Saturday in over a year!  Thank you so much Marta - you gave me the day to just catch up on errands and house straightening.

Doesn't it feel like I'm always talking about how I'm "straightening?"  Well, the reason is that my house is HUGE and with an inevitable move to downsize, there is more stuff that has been accumulated in the past 19 years in my house then I can begin to tell you.  

So, room by room, I've been attacking this enormous project - piles for charity, piles for the trash, piles of what we are keeping  that needs to be organized in bins.  It's alot of work folks for one small woman lol.

Let me tell you about last night...
I have to tell you, I've had it with the traffic in NYC, particularly on a Friday night!!

This is the second time I've been on my way to see a show with my Aunt Ro and we've hit so much traffic that we missed our dinner reservation!!
I was so angry.  We got there an hour late and the restaurant was packed. As a result, we could not be seated at Trattoria Trecolore (insert sad face).

Ugh!  So, me and Aunt Ro wound up leaving and walking around trying to figure out where we should grab a quick bite before the show started.

What wound up happening is that we make our way into the Marriott Marquis, eating in the lounge for a quick bite.  It was EHHHH - not the best, but at least it was sustenance for us to get through our show.

Aunt Ro was not pleased at all and was a bit twisted about not making it to dinner in time and then having to eat in the touristy hotel lounge.

So, let me move on to the show...Kristen Chenoweth: 

It was super incredible!! If you have a chance to catch this limited edition engagement on Broadway, I highly recommended it!!

I thoroughly enjoyed it!  Her voice is just amazing.

A little bit Broadway, some standards and even a bit of country featuring a Dolly Parton song.  What I thought was the funniest part was her rendition of "I'm Tired" sung by Madeline Kahn in Blazing Saddles.  

Really enjoyable show!!! Thanks Kristen for coming back to Broadway.

Well, this is a short one today folks - so sorry. But, I'll be back tomorrow!!

NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: 3 DAYS

Busy Day Ahead

Hi guys :)

It just hit me. I can't believe that we are leaving town in only 3 days!!  

We are not quite ready and still have lots to do, but at the same time I'm feeling pretty comfortable with how much is done compared to how much still needs to get done.

Anyhow I can't worry about that today, we've got a busy day in front of us. 
We'll be heading out to Muzeo for the kids first holiday performance of the season at the Grand Opening of Muzeo Express: Holiday Model Trains

Muzeo (which means “museum” in the international language of Esperanto) re-invents the concept of a regional cultural center for 21st century audiences. Muzeo Museum is a center for arts, education, entertainment and culture, engaging people of all ages via the showcase of world-class exhibitions and creative programming.

Following the performance, we are heading to the stables for Cosette's horseback riding lesson, then off to do some shopping, pick up some food for tomorrow's trip to Catalina, take Cosette to Dover Saddlery, and finally go to dinner at Cafe Gratitude.

Meanwhile we were in Long Beach pretty much all day yesterday as the kids were busy in an all-day choir workshop. I stayed for the majority of the day, but took a break to go have lunch with Dave. 

After the kids were all done and quite exhausted have you, I had promised them ice cream - vegan ice cream of course! 
So off we headed to our new favorite Anti-Milk Ice Cream Shop - Hug Life. And boy was it GOOOOOD!

And since they serve Ice Cream and stuff - we also opted to try some on their egg(less) rolls.
Again we were shocked by how GOOD they were!

We have gotten to know the owners, two very cool and eager young guys with big plans and one very cool ice cream shop.
They haven't even had their grand opening yet and they've already been getting so much hype that the Los Angeles Times will be there next week to interview them.

I'm pretty sure that we too will make one more visit before heading out of town. 

That's about all I have time for today. But I do want to add one more thing before I go...
I've seen a lot of crap and people treating one another quite poorly. I know that the main-stream media is only making it worse.

But my message to you is to please be kind, treat your fellow neighbor with respect.
