BRAND BALLOT'S TOP 100 MOM BLOGS FOR 2018!!
Tanya heads to San Francisco and beyond!Hello out there! It's another Monday and if I am remembering correctly it was last Monday that I was heading out to San Fran and now here we are again and I'm on the road to San Francisco once again! This is only one part of a longer trip that I will be also hitting cities: Las Vegas, Flagstaff, Alburquerque and Dallas! THEN it'll be just about time to get serious about putting together and finalizing our Thanksgiving menu. While Elisa and the girls will be off having fun in Orlando for the holiday, I on the other hand won't be doing any traveling until Dec 6th. Instead, I'll be staying local in SoCal with an insane shopping list and oh so much to do in the kitchen! For a few weeks now I had a playdate arranged for me and little Aurora. I eagerly awaited my fun time with the baby and the long awaited date finally happened yesterday! This little angel is growing so rapidly. It's quite amazing to watch. And time spent with these kiddos is oh so precious. We had such fun together! It's been quite a while since my two big love bugs were this size, but I remember it well and have so many wonderful memories that we've made along the way...And that we continue to make! Okay lastly before I say toodles for the day, I was cleaning my desktop and figured that I would share a few of the pictures that I came across. It's been a busy year - that's for sure! Time for me to say toodles, -Travelin' Tanya | Christmas comes early for Kelsey with Little Shop of HorrorsHello and a big shout out to all the veterans and those brave men and women serving now!! This coming week is crazy because the girls have so many days off!! Today, obviously they have no school, but then during the rest of the week they each have off days because of teachers' meetings and other things. Great for me - no getting up at crack of dawn to drive them AND not making lunch lol. In addition, Christmas is coming early for my girl Kelsey. Both girls told me that they would like to see Broadway shows instead of getting gifts for Christmas. This was absolutely fine with me since, let's face it, my girls basically get everything they want and need throughout the year, thank goodness. Having the experience of going into Manhattan and seeing a show definitely trumps a new sweater or other item. Kelsey was thrilled to hear that Little Shop of Horrors was returning to Broadway this month for a limited engagement. Now, it's important to note that her interest was based NOT on the show itself, with which she is completely unfamiliar, but rather because of the performers starring in the musical comedy. Both girls are completely into the musical television program GLEE and have come to know each and every one of the performers on the show and their professional goings on. One of their favorite actors is Jonathan Groff, who has had many roles on the Broadway stage and is currently in the revival of Little Shop of Horrors. He was also the voice of Kristoff in Disney's Frozen motion picture. So, of course, both girls were beyond thrilled!!! HOWEVER... all performances with Jonathan Groff were sold out in a flash!! I can't remember a show where every single ticket was sold out!! Here's the good news. There is a week of time during this engagement (from November 5-17) when Mr. Groff will NOT be in the show and while that in and of itself is quite disappointing, his replacement during this period is an actor that is also one of Kelsey's favorites!! AND there were tickets available! As a result since this is a limited engagement and the ONLY tickets available to this show was this week, specifically, Wednesday, at which time Kelsey and I will be seeing the show with Gideon Glick. Mr. Glick is no newcomer to Broadway as he has played most recently Dill in To Kill a Mockingbird, along with his Broadway-debut turn as Ernst in Spring Awakening alongside Groff as Melchior. Glick's other Broadway credits include Significant Other and Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. Needless to say, Kelsey is thrilled!! As for today, the girls will help me with more packing.. Today's goal is to clear out my storage room downstairs with all my holiday decorations. It's pretty well organized as I am very OCD (as you probably know by now). I have things in bins by colors for ornaments and tree decor. I just want to see if I can further organize for the move and get stuff out of the room. Here's to a happy Monday and special Veteran's Day to all those who have and continue to serve, and to their families! -Travelin' Elisa xoxo |
