5 Foods (and Vegan Recipes!) that Taste Better in November
Well good day to you!!! Here we are in November! Can you believe it??
It's crazy to me how quickly the days, weeks and months go by. We are almost at 2020 - a whole new decade!!
Well, moving right along, I got to thinking about how this month feels different than last when it comes to weather, how we dress, and even how we eat. Most of us in colder regions of the world are throwing on sweaters, raking leaves and spending a bit more time indoors, which more than likely involves a greater focus on cooking. And in my humble opinion, there are just certain foods that taste super good with all these changes. Here are five yummy items that are at their tasty peak in November and since it is also Foodie Friday here on TC, I've included one mouthwatering Vegan recipe for each!
1. Parsnips
November is a wonderful time for root veggies. You may wonder why. Well, after the first frost, their starches begin to turn to sugar. Why not combine a number of fall favorite root vegetables for yummy side dish or as the basis for a comforting bowl by adding a grain such as farro, barley or quinoa and some leafy greens.
