Here we are again... Fall Cleaning... It's been a pretty busy week for me as I'm trying to do a major overhaul of my house. If you read my blog yesterday, you know that I cleared out a great deal of stuff that has been taking up space for a long time now. I decided that it was time to give my den a little overhaul in time for the holidays. My goal is to get rid of the clutter so that I feel more relaxed in the coming months as I travel on a number of trips. I just hate coming home after a long trip and being surrounded by so much "STUFF" all over the place. One of the most used and abused rooms in my home is my den. The kids spend most of their time in here, watching television and hanging out with their friends. It's also the room we watch movies in as a family. And since it is so close to the kitchen, it's usually where the crowd will wind up sitting on family get togethers and holidays. So, it is definitely time for a sprucing up. I bought new window treatments, pillows for the couches and ordered a new wall unit today, which will be a more attractive way to store our movie collection, the kids' coloring books and crayons and WII components. I decided to introduce a little blue and gold into the room and tomorrow I will go to order new carpeting. The new room will be revamped in time for Thanksgiving! The kids are giving me a hard time about change, but that's life. More Travel Planning... So, back to travel talk!! Tanya and I were talking today about a few of our upcoming trips and getting going with finalizing some bookings. * Yellowstone Road Trip (April 2015): I'm still waiting for these darn airfare rates to drop, so I haven't yet booked. We have also decided that it might be more comfortable staying in private rentals, since we had such great success and fun doing this on our most recent New Mexico Road Trip last month. * Florida Theme Park Trip (Feb. 2015): These rates haven't budged!!! I can't tell you how much I resent having to pay a lot "just" to go to Florida. I keep hoping that all the alerts I'm on will catch a second when the rates drop so I can just book!! Other than that, I've got my accommodations, my rental car and my theme park tickets (and dining reservations) all finalized! * Eastern Europe (June 2015): While this seems pretty far off, it's really not. My hope is that Tanya and I can chat later today or tomorrow to finalize our itinerary and begin shopping airfare, accommodations and rail tickets. I know for sure I so want to go back to Prague with my dear cousin and clearly want to see Budapest, Hungary and Krakow, Poland. So, we have a ton to discuss! We will be adding to our trip pages so you can follow our progress. Travelin' Tuesday will be starting up again soon featuring the planning of these trips!! Stay tuned! Well, I'm off to do more organizing and simultaneously take care of Gianna who is home yet again from the pain of a pulled oblique muscle. Ouch!! See ya back here tomorrow for Throwback Thursday!! -E | Lots to do Wednesday!Good Day Everyone!! It's Hump-day again! It's been a busy week here on the west coast. So very much to do as we prep for our trip as well as prep for being gone until early December. With the holidays approaching and Dominic's birthday falling right in the midst of all the festivities, you can only image all that I have to do in order to feel "ready" to go on this upcoming vacation! And that doesn't even count the extra chore of switching out the summer for winter wardrobe or packing - quite the task! I can say that I am at least finished swapping out the children's clothes, and some basics of my own. I have packed both Cosette and Dominic's luggage, although I still need to toss (shove) in a few additional items. I have my on-going list, that I'm happily checking things off of everyday...however I am also adding things to the list everyday as well! I'm hoping to be finished with all of the major packing by Friday. And then be able to relax and not worry about it over the (busy) weekend! And although Dave B doesn't come out and meet us until the day before Thanksgiving, I'm also gonna help him pack his bag before I leave, so that he's all set to go! As you can see it's also been a very busy week for Elisa on the east coast, as she tackles her own chores to prepare for our visit and the upcoming holidays! Tis the season!! As far as today goes, Cosette will be returning from her 2 night stay sleepover with Mika at Liz's house. It was planned as a one nighter; but the girls had such a fun time together that they begged for a second night! And since we will be leaving on Tuesday and they won't get to see each other for at least 3+ weeks it didn't take much for me to say yes! Once she gets back, we will be heading to the stables for her horseback riding lesson, I've got some shopping that I need to get out of the way, and I really would like to start putting things into my suitcase! All before going to get my hair done, taking Dominic to his Wednesday night class, and then making dinner for the crew! As far as Where to go Wednesday, I'll be adding more as the day progresses and always I select a few local events that sound like fun to me & I hope that you agree! The first one is .
