Organizing and Preparing for the HolidaysHowdy my dear friends!!! How is your day going? Mine is going better than I can even express - Why? you might ask. Well, I've been promising myself that I was going to completely overhaul my house by going through each room and HAULING old stuff that is taking up space and that I haven't used in years. I have dreaded this job! But, today, I finally dug in and boy, do I feel good. So productive. With all the traveling over the past few years, I just let things completely overtake me and pile up - clothes, papers, magazines, books, old toys, clothes that I haven't worn, empty picture frames. Even decor that I'm totally sick of! My motivation is the upcoming holidays and having my house all organized for Tanya's visit. We are going to have a house full of guests for the week and then for dinner. So, unfortunately, today is going to be a short one folks. I'll be back tomorrow, a little more relaxed and with a lighter home!! I did however, find this very interesting article for Travelin' Tuesday about one of my bucket list destinations: Jordan!! Tanya and I have talked about this destination and she says she is a bit nervous about visiting this region. But, I am so enamored and taken by the religious history that I plan to put this on my travel list for some time in 2016-2017!! If you have seen Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade (the one that Sean Connery plays Indiana's father), you may remember the "front of the temple" where they find the old knight. This was filmed in Petra. Ok folks, hope you enjoy the linked article about Jordan. Enjoy your Tuesday!! -E | Planning and PreppingHiya everyone! Remember one click is all it takes! ------------>>>> Well as you already know I began doing the winter/summer clothes swap last Friday, but I had only barely just dipped my toes into the enormous task that this really is! Yesterday I had continued in my quest to swap out our (the kids and my own) wardrobes, as well as start packing for our upcoming combo trip NYC & Iceland!!! I managed to get through a couple more bins, organize, purge, and almost finish packing Cosette's luggage. There are a few more items that I'll need to throw in there before it's 100% ready to go! Today along with a number of other chores that are on my to do list, I'll be continuing with this BIG one and hopefully tackle Dominic's luggage, leaving mine for last (as I'm sure it'll probably take the longest). I had to put things on hold once it was time to take the kids to their choir rehearsal, and since there weren't any board meetings for me to attend, Dave B and I managed to sneak away and go grab some yummy Hot Tea Lattes! Mmm Upon returning, we caught up with the gang and immediately started discussing another Gladiator Mud Run that we've decided to participate in! Just as soon as I heard about the location and date (on Saturday night), the kids and I started planning! All four of us (Dave B, Dominic, Cosette, and I) are signing up for the June 2015 event that will take place in San Jose, California. Some of our choir "family" seem like they too will be making the trip up north for another exciting and dirty adventure! So far I think we are going to do the weekend like a camping trip! And after the run, once we are all cleaned up that we will head up to San Francisco for a fun day trip! Lastly on the way back down to Orange County that we will take a leisurely drive down the coast and spend some time in Santa Cruz! A few other travel/event plans that have been recently secured have been:
And still working on the trip details for other appraoching upcoming trips, such as:
Well I've said my share! Hope you have a magical day! -T |
