BRAND BALLOT'S TOP 100 MOM BLOGS FOR 2018!!
Experiencing the True SwitzerlandHello and a big May Good Day to you! What a lovely Spring day I woke up to this morning. Those birds were ridiculously happy, chirping and singing away! Mondays are always a bit nutty on this end, as it's the day I do the bulk of my errands - plan my meals for the week, grocery shopping, fill the tank with gas, put away the clean laundry, and last, but certainly not least, get my articles underway for the week ahead for ThisIsTheBronx.info and now, HeartOfTheBronx.com. Additionally, Mondays are when we publish our new Guest Blog of the week. This week, we will be featuring Anna Timbrook, who hails from Switzerland and travels the globe with her husband. She has lots of great advice about how to enjoy some of the “true” Swiss experiences you can easily have while visiting Switzerland. From food to history, and a little Alpine in between, Anna highlights a few things you should enjoy when visiting this European country in this week's article entitled: Experience the True Switzerland Read more And - we have Tanya back today! Don't forget to catch up on her day riding in the Five Boro Bike Tour yesterday! Her pictures are amazing and it looks like her and Dave had an awesome time!!! In other news... Today, I got back in the groove with my walking and managed a 3.5 mile walk in the beautiful sunshine! What a difference it makes starting off the day with an invigorating walk among the trees, the blooming flowers and the sunny rays!! As you know, me and the girls are going to be staying close to home this summer, as Dad continues his treatments and gets back to his normal, healthy and strong self. However, we care currently planning some Daycations and mini weekend trips. The three of us began chatting about this yesterday and as soon as we have plans set, I'll be sharing them with you. One thing I do know is that we'll be joining LifeTme Fitness gym beginning next month, which is more like a mini resort than a gym with indoor and outdoor swimming pools, two floors of exercise machines, classes and so much more. Our plan is to indulge ourselves in daily visits, enjoying all that it has to offer and fill in and around our time there with short day and weekend excursions. More to come on this!!! Off to enjoy the day! -Travelin' Elisa xoxo | My first hand review of the FIVE BORO BIKE TOUR in NYCHello my patient peeps and followers! GREETINGS FROM THE BIG APPLE. I'm not gonna focus on the negative and my current absences. I acknowledge them and hope to be able to be back on a regular DAILY writing (or at least check in) with you ASAP. I have had a lot more travel opportunities come up and have somehow managed to squeeze these trips into my already insane calendar - that's me... ALWAYS PUSHING THE LIMITS!! What I need to do is work on my new schedule and the time to jump on here DAILY. It is definitely on my mind and something that I will figure out. In the mean time, here I am in NYC. I arrived on Saturday morning after a long and super fun cross country road trip. And just in the nick of time - which seems to be what my life is... We all know that I'm the type of person who loves doing it all. And the only way to possibly fit everything in, is when the timing and scheduling is absolutely perfect. Luckily that is where I excel! And manage to do "DO IT ALL". There really isn't much downtime in my life. Most people would and could not enjoy this lifestyle. I know this and accept everyone for who they are. I just have a certain knack for life the nick of time! Today I'm going to share with you some pics and clips from yesterdays bike ride - the FIVE BORO BIKE TOUR. 40 miles, 5 boros. 1 day. Zero cars. And quite the feat! This is a fun ride and was my second year participating... of the very many to come. This year was also RAINING on us riders - the entire day. No rest or break in the rain. We were soaked to the bone. Cold and sopping wet. But those of us who stuck it out seemed to be having a great time nonetheless. Check out my pictures here and also please use the link below to watch all the vlogs that were taken throughout the course. Biking the Five Boros in NYC My day in pictures: The main goal after the ride was to get back to the hotel, clean up, dry up, warm up and then head back out into the rain once again! It's always go go go when you are with me! It was time for a bite and then a wonderful stroll in the rain - which is one of my very favorite things to do. Dave on the other-hand was kinda hating it! LOL Then based on a recollection that there was a specific ice cream flavor that I was interested in trying out - which was a special at only one location of Van Leeuwan and that was at the newly opened Hudson Yards. There was a plan in the works and we headed in that direction. Dave ordered chocolate because the vanilla wasn't vegan and I sampled a number of different flavors. Each being a bit too sweet for my taste. I felt bad about it, but my pickiness kicked in and I wasn't going to get anything. Yup we came all that way and I wasn't gonna order a thing. Luckily the gal behind the counter had made a suggestion about getting a mint chip ice cream shake and how it wasn't overly sweet and it was sooooo good. I went with it and I happy I did! It was quite delish! Eventually we would make our way back to the hotel and call it a night. And on that note, I'm gonna call it a day and head on out into the city! Oh yea...
