TGIF!Hello Everyone! I have mixed emotions today. On the one hand, I'm so happy it's Friday -- end of the school week; start of another relaxing weekend out East; great weather forecasted for Saturday and Sunday and of course today is FOODIE FRIDAY, one of my favorite features on our site!! However, last night while sitting in my kitchen, doing some final edits on today's Foodie Friday article, Rustica Brick Oven Cafe - A Gem in Garden City, I heard the sound of water dripping. The sound was coming from somewhere behind my built-in refrigerator and it began at the same time that my daughter Rebecca (whose bathroom is directly above the fridge) turned on the shower. After listening for a few minutes, hoping my ears were playing tricks on me, I realized, there definitely was some kind of leak. GRRRR. So, today, I have my (very expensive!) plumber coming over to see what's going on. And ya know that whatever the problem is, it's going to cost me a service charge just for him walking through my door. Ok, rant over!!! We really hope you enjoy our new and improved Foodie Fridays page! We've added lots of photos to our slideshow of the many delectable foods we have enjoyed traveling in our own backyard and throughout our travels. Please stay tuned for great articles on our newest page: Entertainment Reviews. This page will feature stories about the many Broadway plays, concerts and live shows we have seen around the country and abroad. Get ready for the first of these, to be featured next week, "Two Generations of Jersey Boys Junkies" !! And a big shout out to our follower Emma Jane - she is the very first person to post a comment on Tanya's Throwback Thurday "Famous in Peru" blog!!! Gonna go walk off my plumber annoyance now!! Ta Ta For Now! ~E | What a speedy week! This week sure did go by FAST! I can't believe that it was already a week ago that I was in San Francisco. You guys will get to "Read all about it!" early next week. Today as we know is FOODIE FRIDAY and we love food! I know I'm always looking forward to hearing about a good meal...well that of course comes second to eating one! I'm a slow eater, a really slow eater. Always the last one at the table. Not sure if it is because I chew slow or talk too much during the meal. Anyway meal time has always been a favorite time of day and food is what brings people together. Whether I'm cooking or we're going out for a meal I've definitely been known to be able to sit at the table for hours - with company that is - I'm not just sitting there by my lonesome! As for the rest of my day, I've got a lot of running around to do, lots of shopping, Cosette's got horseback riding, getting Cosette measured for her costume, I gotta fit in my workout, and then we are all going to play tennis early this evening. A number of us really enjoy it, and have fun, although none of us are really any good at it! lol We've also got a semi busy weekend ahead of us - full of classes, performances, girl scouts, biking, more tennis, movies, and of course Food! I'll meet ya back here tomorrow for some play by play of our action :) Toodles Boodles, -T |
