According to the weather report, the entire week is supposed to be wet and icky. Sometimes it's not such a bad thing to have a little rain - it can be quite peaceful just listening to the sound of the raindrops outside.  Travelin' Tanya just booked her trip to Hawaii yesterday!! Lucky girl! So, in honor of this booking, I want to show you the best views of Hawaii, for your next trip!  Waipio Valley Lookout, Hawaii's Big Island (credit: tripadvisor) Hawaii's Big Island Hawaii, commonly called the Big Island, is the largest island in the Hawaiian archipelago in the Central Pacific. The terrain is quite diverse with its sand beaches at Papakolea (green) and Punalu’u (black), lush rainforest and, within Volcanoes National Park, two active volcanoes, Kilauea and Mauna Loa. Waipio Valley Lookout Located on the northeastern Hamakua Coast, the sacred Waipio Valley was once the childhood home of King Kamehameha. Known as “The Valley of the Kings,” Waipio is filled with taro fields, waterfalls, and lush vegetation. The best views are from the Waipio Valley Overlook.  Pools of Oheo Gulch, Maui (credit: youtube.com) Maui Hana Highway Possessing both scenic drives and lookouts, Maui's 52-mile road to Hana has breathtaking, scenic, tropical views and waterfalls The Pools of Oheo Gulch Beyond Hana should not be missed and of course, Haleakala National Park has an incredible view from the top.  The Pine Trees along the Munro Trail leading to Lanaihale (credit: leahtravels.com) Lāná i Lānaʻi is the sixth-largest of the Hawaiian Islands and the smallest publicly accessible inhabited island in the chain. It is also known as Pineapple Island because of its past as an island-wide pineapple plantation Lanaihale At the top of the Munro Trail, with a landscape full of past rainforests and majestic pine trees, Maunalei gulch and the island of Maui is Lanaihale, Lanai’s highest point. Napali Coast This fifteen-mile stretch of rugged coastline on the northwest shore of Kauai literally means "the Cliffs." The best ways to experience Na Pali's myriad of natural wonders is by sailing, hiking and rafting as most of the coast is inaccessible due to its sheer cliffs that drop straight down, thousands of feet into the ocean. Waimea Canyon Known as the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific,” for panoramic views.  Nuuanu Pali Lookout, Oahu (credit: honolulumagazine.com) Oahu Home to the state capital, Honolulu and Waikiki, the iconic beach. Nuuanu Pali Lookout has panoramic views of the Koolau Mountains and the Windward Coast of Oahu. According to gohawaii.com, "Named “Pali” meaning ‘cliff’ in Hawaiian, the Pali Lookout is the site of the Battle of Nuuanu, where in 1795 King Kamehameha I won the struggle that finally united Oahu under his rule. This fierce battle claimed hundreds of soldiers’ lives, many of which were forced off of the Pali’s sheer cliffs. Sheer natural beauty!
