MY QUICK TRIP to MINNEAPOLIS, MN Tanya's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY IN: ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Hiya! How has your week been? I've been to Minneapolis and to Denver and back, so needless to say that my week has been a bit of a whirlwind. If we want to add to my whirlwind - I was also just returning back from NYC last Saturday. So pretty much don't even bother trying to ask me what time I think it is. LOL In fact when I was chatting with Elisa on Thursday, I was so confused as to what day it was and what our current schedule is here on Travelin Cousins (Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays) that I thought Wednesday was Thursday and I was literally all over the place! I don't think I can blame that one on jet lag. LOL So I'll have you know that so many people have asked WHY when I told them that I was going to Minneapolis, MN and honestly even I thought the only reason was to check off my 28th MLB Baseball Stadium - Target Field and to watch a couple of games. But honestly, I realized that there is so much more!!! And we my short in and out visit that I still managed to cram with lots to see and do, I feel as though I only barely scratched the surface and that I will be planning another trip back to Minneapolis. Of course we can pretty much assume that it will be during baseball season and when the Yankees are there once again. Oh and did I mention that we (the Yankees) swept the Twins?! BONUS!! (insert little happy dance here) Related reading: MLB STATUES ON PARADE We caught one night game and one day game and I explored the stadium from top to bottom and bottom to top. Also getting my MLB Baseball Stadium Passport stamped. It was all great fun for me. And then afterwards, we went to go do a bit of exploring... The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden: Apparently this is the WORLD'S LARGEST SPOONBRIDGE AND CHERRY While it was very cool and fun to take pictures of, personally, I didn't know there was more than one! Okay, I just can't help myself here... While walking around the sculpture garden, we came across this Blue Rooster from the rear and came up with this total DAD JOKE: "What 's another name for a Roosters Butt?" Scroll down to the bottom of my SCOOP for the Answer. After wandering about the sculpture gardens, we were pretty hungry and decided to have an early dinner at Reverie Cafe. BTW, as a side note Minneapolis does a pretty good job on the vegan scene! Next stop was Minnehaha Falls... By this time, we really only had time for one more thing and believe me when I tell you that we only had time for a peek.. It was the MALL OF AMERICA - this place was massive, you can honestly take a trip to this mall and you won't need to go anywhere else. There is just so much to see and do that I can fill an entire blog just on this alone. But for today I'll settle for just a few pictures: After leaving Minneapolis, we had a LONG layover in Denver which we took full advantage of, eating at City O' City and by taking a lovely little scenic road trip to Winter Park, CO After which it was time to face the Friday traveling crowds and head to the Denver International Airport and head back to Cali. Ciao 4 now, -Travelin' Tanya ANSWER to "What's another name for a Roosters Butt?" A COCKTAIL - LMAO Drop us a line if you knew the answer! | Milestone Birthday Celebration & High School Ending Elisa's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY IN: LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK Howdy! This has been quite a week for me! My eldest daughter, Gianna turned the big 2-0 this week!!! Is that even possible!! I just cannot believe how quickly time goes by. And if that isn't enough, my youngest, and baby girl, Kelsey had her last day of high school yesterday! I am filled with such joy just thinking about all the travel adventures I had with these two kids!! Such wonderful memories! I put together a little gallery below - click the photos for the respective blog post and feature article for more on each trip! These girls were flying and traveling around long before they could walk!! Their first plane rides (respectively) were to Florida to see Grandma and Grandpa in Boca Raton, and coming in for a close second was Orlando to visit Disney World! 2012 marked the first time they traveled to Europe with our trip to Ireland. This was followed by subsequent other European trips to France, Czech Republic, Vienna and of course our month-long trip to Italy! So many more memories of traveling with my girls throughout the United States and the National Parks, many of which were with Tanya, which includes our wonderful cousins trip to London in 2017. When it comes to travel, I was also blessed to have enjoyed a plethora of day trips all over the New York metro area and the Outer boroughs, countless trips to Disney World and all the amazing food along the way!! This year marked the first time Kelsey traveled by plan alone during her Senior trip to Disney World and August will mark the first time that Gianna will fly without mama bear as she embarks on a trip to Italy - exactly 10 years from her very first visit!! Happy End of High School Kelsey and Happy 20th Gianna! And thank you for following our adventures all these years through all the crazy times, joys, sadness, travels and celebrations!! - Travelin' Elisa |
