We are here and we're rearing to go for the Catalina MTB Grand Fondo. This will be our second annual ride with the event.
With the help of the island conservancy, the US Cup has been granted special access to the TCT (Trans Catalina Trail) for this event. Not normally open to bicycles, select sections of the TCT trail will be open for our event giving participants a whole new look into the interior of Catalina Island!
It is a ride like no other. Riders of all levels will be out there today grinding their way up steep climbs and feeling the burn...or maybe I'll be the only one feeling the burn! LOL

*Before I go any further, let me share with you that my dear cousin Elisa is going to be MIA on Travelin' Cousins today - as she is going through a VERY EMOTIONALLY TOUGH week and she had bad grief night with the kids and with today being Gianna's birthday she has definitely got her hands very FULL! She promises to be back tomorrow with plenty of birthday stories to fill us in on!
So after the very busy day that I had yesterday, Dave and I embarked on the Catalina Express out of Long Beach, California.

Our ferry had left promptly on time and started the 26 mile ride to Catalina Island and following the recent Alaskan storm that had just passed, the skies were clear but the waters were a bit choppy. But no sea sickness here! WHEW..

Yay, we made it!!!
Getting off of the boat was fun, crowded and it was windy! We then had to located our hotel (TBA) and check in. Upon arrival to the island, I realized that my phone signal was completely out :(
And rumor has it that the recent storm had knocked out AT&T since Thursday. My fingers are crossed that the service will come back sometime today!!
Sorry for such a shortie today. I was having some technical difficulties this morning and now it's time to get bet my booty in gear!
