Tanya's Daily ScoopIt's a Friday Frenzy!Good Day Everyone! How was your week? Mine was pretty average, if I may say so myself. But my average is kinda too busy for most people.. While some people (my mom and Dave included) like their down time, I'm not a super fan of down time. I prefer filling my time with projects... And if I'm not being physically active, then my head is wrapped around and working on several things... Yesterday I did manage to go out to Chino and take Cosette to the Stables - rain or shine - if I say I'm gonna do something I keep my word! I'm definitely not a FLAKE. One thing that I haven't stuck to for several days has been my 100 day Fitness Challenge. So the way I see it is that I'm certainly gonna go longer than the original 100 days. But of course I was active on our recent trip with hiking and mountain biking. And this weekend with the Catalina Gran Fondo! Gotta keep up the conditioning for our Gladiator Mud Run in June! As for today, it's go time! Lots of to dos on the schedule today, and then off to the Long Beach Terminal for the Catalina Express! And tomorrow is the long awaited Gran Fondo Bike Ride. Look for info on this years ride in Sunday's scoop and possibly in the THINGS TO DO tab. Let's not forget that today is Friday and the kick off to the weekend! Do you have anything fun planned for this weekend? Here at Travelin' Cousins Friday also means that it's FOODIE FRIDAY! And I will be posting A Taste of Oregon for you to read and enjoy, and if you are anywhere near Eugene or Portland, Oregon after reading this post and seeing all the pictures you may even want to check a few of these yummilicious dishes out for yourself!! See ya back here tomorrow y'all, when I'll be greeting you from Catalina Island! -T | Elisa's Daily ScoopA little better each dayHello there -- Well, folks, each day that goes by, I find I am able to go a little bit longer without busting into tears over my beloved Liberty's passing. Now that the initial shock is starting to wear off, I'm just trying to come to terms that she is not here as part of my daily life to see, hear and touch. :-( It's the routines that I'm so used to with her - feeding her twice a day, letting her out, our nighttime routines of having her come upstairs and going to sleep in her bed - I have to remind myself that she is no longer here when my knee jerk is to do these things. And that is what usually brings on the tears with the realization that she is gone. I have to say, though, I'm in the mood to talk more upbeat today, so I suppose that's a good sign. The girls were off from school yesterday and today. I had been invited by my friend Marta to join her and her son at Lifetime Fitness. What a place this is. It's so much more than a gym. There are swimming pools (indoor and out), basketball courts, exercise rooms, a salon, cafe. The kids had a blast playing basketball and swimming. Unfortunately, Marta forgot her workout pants so we did not work out, but we certainly caught up on chatting while watching the kids. On the way home, we stopped at the nursery and I bought tons of additional flowers and veggies for my garden. I am doing all I can to distract myself from losing my baby this week. Today, Gianna is having her friends come over to work on their Social Studies project, while me and Kelsey go shopping for all the birthday people this weekend. Tomorrow is Gianna's 11th, Dad's 80th and Sunday is Rebecca's 25th. We have two milestones this year!! Tonight we'll be going out to dinner to celebrate as a family. Going to get going friends. Wishing you a happy Friday. -E xoxo |
