Tanya's Daily ScoopThe Last Day of our TripHello out there & a very Happy Mother's Day to all of the Mother's in this world coming at you from Las Vegas! We'll be heading home today, as it is the last day of our fabulous vacation! I've gotta get back to my mom and to my (BIG) babies who chose to stay at home for this trip. They really do like to travel, but obviously they don't have the travel bug quite as much as I do! What a special day it is here for us today... Not only is it Mother's Day, but it is also the 1 year Birthday/Anniversary of Travelin' Cousins!!! So if you have been following us (which we really hope that you have been and that you are), you'l notice that we are doing a swapping of sides for this next year! It's for those of us who like to change things up, because I'm definitely the type of gal who can bore easily...but you probably already know that about me! LOL As always we do hope that you are keeping up with both of us and reading both sides (as they are always different...even when we are on the same trip - you always get to hear both of our voices). Here is a sampling from a year ago and our very first post: CLICK HERE To catch you up... Yesterday was spent here in Vegas, and it was Dave's birthday...we spent the day eating, and chillaxing. He's definitely the type who likes his downtime! Poor guy was actually getting nervous and worried about little 'ol me - because I don't care much for downtime and I was doing it (nothing) for him! Too funny! But I guess he was due for a break from all the zipping around that I've expected of him on this trip. I do have the tendency to run him (and others) ragged! Unintentionally of course. I have to mention that while all of our meals have been lovely, that we had a most wonderful dinner at SW Steakhouse (read about SW in a past FOODIE FRIDAY HERE) - they have a fantastic Vegan Menu and dinner was to die for! I ordered a Truffle Risotto as my main and I was in heaven! This was the BEST risotto that I've ever had! It out of this world! It was freakin' TRUFFLICOUS amazing! The dish itself was quite filling, but I had to eat each and every last bite - no matter how full I was! So while there is not all too much excitement to report from this very happening party zone. Next time (in September) I'll be back at the helm and we will definitely be painting the town!! Until next time Vegas...Until Next time! As far as today goes... After breakfast we'll be hitting up a few stops along the way back to Orange County - Ronald's Donuts will definitely be amongst these stops!!! And once we are back home with the Family, we will all - yes the entire SoCal Clan will be spending the day together and heading to a gardens and then to dinner. I'll fill ya in tomorrow on all the rest and any stories that might go along! Until then I wish you a most Wonderful Mother's Day spent with those that you love and hold dear to your heart. Tootles, -T | Elisa's Daily ScoopHappy Mother's Day and 1 Year Anniversary to Travelin' Cousins!!!Good Day everyone!!! Today is a Happy Day on two counts! First, it's Mother's Day! A big Shout out to all the moms!!! Enjoy your special Day and try not to let anything annoy you! Secondly, today is the One Year Anniversary of our Travelin' Cousins Blog and Website!!! How exciting this is!! Now you may have noticed that Tanya and I switched sides for our Daily Scoop Columns. That's right folks, we are making some changes for the start of our second year!!! It is our hope that you follow both of us. You know, we both have so much that we do individually on a daily basis - reading both sides helps you to know each of your Travelin' Cousins!! And of course, there is the issue of TRAVEL!!! Two for the price of one when it comes to our trips and travel adventures by reading both of our daily blogs! In fact, today, Tanya has a little Flashback link to our very first blog post from May 14, 2014!!! (Not to mention - her last day of her Moab & Southwest National Parks Road Trip) <<<<<<-----<<<<-----<<<<<-----<<<<< I encourage you to check it out!!! So, back to the day at hand - Mother's Day. Today, I'll be having dinner with the family later in the day. It just so happens to be a gorgeous day here on Long Island. Sunny, breezy and warm. LOVIN' IT!! For now, I'm just chillin'. But, let me jump to Last Night - we went out to celebrate Denise's Birthday. As I said in my blog yesterday - we were heading into Greenwich Village in NYC to a place called Jekyll & Hyde for dinner and fun. Well, folks, we made it into the Village - BUT... Big But, we never made it to our original destination. You may be wondering why - ok, well, because the four of us (me, Denise, Tedd and Marcelo) apparently have NOT the slightest sense of direction!! We parked the car on the street, after actually passing Jekyll & Hyde while driving. But, somehow, once were were out of the car, we could not find the restaurant! And mind you, this was with a GPS and map on our cell phones! I'm amazed that I'm even sharing this stupidity with you. But, it is the truth. After passing the car once from walking around in a circle AND asking a knowledgable city local which way to go, we still couldn't find it!!! Seriously?! Thank goodness, we were standing in front of an adorable and enticing restaurant when we decided to give up the journey and we decided to go into Barraca, a Tapas, Paellas and Sangria joint. Honestly folks, it was the best decision we made!! The place had ambiance and amazing food!! We had a blast - lots of laughs and ate way too much!!! Stay tuned for this great dining find on a future Foodie Friday!!! Well, my dear followers and friends, I'll be signing off for now. A big Thanks to al of you for following the Travelin' Cousins - we promise, there will be more fun stuff coming during year 2!!! Love ya all!! -E xoxo |
