Elisa's Daily ScoopSometimes you need to just breatheSpring Back Folks!! Feels strange even using the word Spring with all of the snow and slush here on Long Island! The weekend was pretty uneventful for me. Thought I did spend a lot of time with my sister, and the kids got to hang out together. Sometimes it's nice to have some down time. Kelsey re-organized her room. At 8 years old, she is really good at cleaning and organizing and decided she wanted to clear out a lot of the clutter. Her room is quite open now, with lots of walking space. (Of course, most of the stuff went into the playroom so that looks like a bomb hit it. But, she assured me she will organize that room too). So, as part of her re-organization, she asked me to take her to Michael's (the craft store) to get some organizational items. That's where I'll be headed first today. Then, making it an "all about the kids day," I'll be headed back to Danielle's as Gianna wasted to spend some time with her cousins again. Haven't given much thought beyond that, so we'll see what the day brings. I hope you all enjoyed our Foodie Friday guest writer this week, Gigi Balsamico and her review of The Red Orchid in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania! We love bringing you interesting perspectives here on our site!! Boo to Tanya who is enjoying the last day of her ski season. I can't feel too sorry for her, as she has really had a great couple of months! This weekend has been a very reflective one for me. I guess sometimes we hit those times in our lives when stuff backs up on us and we need to top, breathe and reflect until we just don't need to do that anymore. I've decided to just surrender to it all and let it all take its natural course. Sorry to get all philosophical on you folks - lol. Please don't forget to vote --->>>--->>> Looking forward to beginning another great week. -E xoxo | Tanya's Daily ScoopAnother Day, Another MountainBy show of hands, how many of you showed up an hour early today, and forgot that we turned the clocks forward in the wee hours of this morning??? Well folks, today is my last day skiing for this 2014-15 season. (Insert very sad face here.) The crazy temps over here are unusually high, which is just weird when you're out there skiing. I don't like it one bit. Plus, it makes me quite uncomfortable in my attire (even without any of my extra layers) it's just too darn HOT! We hit the slopes at heavenly ski resort yesterday with Dave B, and while the earlier part of the day wasn't all that bad, as the hours past, the sun got warmer, and the snow began to turn to slush. Not to mention the masses that showed up, which equates to lines, crowds, and way too many beginners who aren't taking lessons, because they think they know how to ski! #Fail But of course, we still managed to have fun! I really wish that they would limit beginners to certain runs or hours or days...something! Anything besides what they have now. It can get downright scary (dangerous) and quite frustrating out there! The rest of our day/night consisted of finishing our game of Settlers of Catan, playing a comical game of racquetball (seriously, we must look and sound like a riot)! We also managed some tennis, and basketball... Remember how much I suck at basketball? Well I actually won the game of HORSE that we played - and the rest of these guys aren't at all too shabby! Guess it's that competitive nature that runs in my blood! Lol And finally, since Dave C took the day off of the slopes, I designated him to cook dinner. Do you recall what he promised to make us??? Gumbo, and it was DELISH!!! Today we head to Kirkwood Ski Resort, which always has the most snow of all the Lake Tahoe resorts. My fingers will be crossed that this last day of skiing is a great one! As of publishing, Dave C still hasn't decided whether or not he'll be hanging out in the lodge or hitting the slopes with the rest of us... Hope you have a fantastic day! See you back here for the new week, -T |
