Tanya's Daily Scoop Covering the West Coast & the World NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: 13 DAYS
Hi Guys! I'm almost at 100%! Gimme a WooHoo!!
But now it seems like I've tag teamed with poor Elisa who after putting up the good fight all week taking care of poor Gianna, it seems like she has come down with a cold.
Help me in sending well healing wishes and love to Elisa!
It felt so good to get out and about yesterday!
I'm not the type who prefers staying in. I am that person you know who runs around non-stop.
I took the kids shopping, Cosette found a pair of Easter shoes that she was happy with and although Dominic did not find a pair of Easter bottoms quite yet, I did manage to pick up another Easter dress shirt - this one for Dave C.
I also went for my lovely mani/pedi. Check it out:
And did I show you my Easter dress? Or Cosette's?
And while Elisa has done some research on the best time of day to fly, I am busy booking our tickets for our Annual Summer trip: Washington DC, New Hampshire, New York and Virginia.
Our schedules are not so flexible to take those early morning flights this time around - usually I'm all about getting a great deal and I don't mind waking us before the birds.
But this time around we are leaving the night of my sister Jet's birthday and coming back the night after Dave C's birthday.
Hopefully we'll get to spend some good 'ol quality time together with Elisa and the gals!!
Alrighty folks. Time for me to get crackin' (my internal whip!), -Travelin' Tanya

Best Time of Day to Fly
Did you guys notice anything different about The Daily Scoop? Yup - we added pics of the "Cousins" on our respective columns! Any thoughts??
Good Friday today so I'm going to keep it short.
So...guess who has a cold now? Yup - me. All that care-taking for my girl, Gianna, I guess I caught her germs. UGH
Doing my natural regimen, cranked up a notch: - Oil of Oregano on the soles of my feet - Sambucol Cold & Flu (contains Elderberry) - Lemon, honey & tart cherry juice tea - Salt water gargle - Vicks vapor rub
And last, but not least, REST!
I will admit - nothing feels better than a good hardy sneeze!! Love it! Feels like it clears you out a bit!!
Enough complaining!!! Moving right along.
After doing some research on the best time of day to fly, here is what I found. Keep it in mind for your next trip!!
BEST TIME OF DAY TO FLY
For Fewest Delays Studies have shown that flights in the early morning are less likely to be delayed than this win the afternoon or evening. What time? Well, to avoid those all-annoying delays, it is best to depart before 8AM.
According to FiveThirtyEight, and the data they've compiled, delay times just continue to build until they reach their peak at about 6PM For On-Time Performance Early morning flights have proven best for on-time performance based on the fact that there is less air traffic.
According to Forbes, airspace is less likely to be crowded in the morning as all previous flights have landed for the night. The trouble begins as planes ready for flight build up and wait for take off, as air traffic controllers begin to delay departures and landings. For Less Turbulence I don't know anyone who likes turbulence, so if you are looking for the best time to avoid it, early morning flights, once again, come out as the ideal time to fly.
According to the National Severe Storms Laboratory, most thunderstorms (and their consequent unstable air) tend to occur in the afternoon.
For Least Crowds and Lines It appears that most travelers prefer to get more sleep in bed than on the plane, based on the fact that airports are relatively less crowded in the morning hours.
Google traffic data shows New York’s JFK airport reaches its peak number of travelers from about noon until 10 p.m. Los Angeles International is most busy from about 11 a.m. until 9 p.m.
For Cheapest Fares Have you ever noticed when searching for flights that it is the early morning flights that are most economical?
According to FareCompare, airlines often sell their first flight of the morning cheaper than those later in the day, simply because they know the majority of people would prefer not to travel at the crack of dawn!
There you have it - on every account, EARLY MORNING is the best time of day to fly!!
