Elisa's Daily ScoopWelcome to a new week folks! Today, is one of the days that is not so good because I had to take Gianna to have her tooth extracted since it cracked last Thursday. She was stressing out about not being able to eat in the morning prior to the procedure. I assured her she would be fine as it is taking place first thing. I really don’t know what to expect since I’m sure there will be pain. My hope is that she sleeps most of the day; that there isn’t much swelling and that she is feeling up to going to school tomorrow. The doctor says she will be fine by later today. We shall see. Broadway bound... The good news is that I’ll be heading into NYC this Wednesday evening to see Kinky Boots with my sister, Danielle. We’ve wanted to see this for a while! I’ll take a look today at the possible nearby restaurants for a dinner spot! Additionally, Ill be working on buttoning down a number of travel issues this week. Travel Research & Planning... There are a few things on my list to do regarding a few of our upcoming trips: Niagara Falls/Toronto Trip I have to find accommodations for the “cousins” for the Toronto segment of this trip. I promised Tanya I'd work on finalizing a private rental while she is traveling this week. We decided to stay in a private rental instead of a hotel. We found the a great apartment in the city with the most spectacular view. Unfortunately, it was not available for the dates we required. BOO! So,I need to get crackin' on finding another possibility. Elisa & Tanya's Eastern European Rail Trip This will be a very ambitious undertaking, visiting so many cities - five in all -- PRAGUE, KRAKOW, BUDAPEST, BRATISLAVA & VIENNA!! Each place is a project in itself, figuring our what to see and do, where to eat...so my plan is to begin getting the itineraries together for each day in each city. When Tanya returns home, we can go through each city, one by one and review the efficiency of what I've put together. We'll also have to look at which events and sights for which we will need to order tickets, as well as those restaurants that may require advanced reservations. You can CLICK HERE to see the progress I've made thus far starting with Prague. Yesterday, I was very productive and was able to get all my errands done - grocery shopping, laundry, shopping for supplies for both girls' projects for their upcoming Social Studies Fair. We even managed to sneak in a trip to Starbucks for hot chocolates and cake pops! That's it, as I have to get Gianna to the Oral Surgeon. Wishing you happiness as you start your week! Please vote and remember to read all the excitement as Tanya is on Day 1 in the Azores! ---->>>>---->>>>---->>>>---->>>> -E xoxo | Tanya's Daily ScoopPictures are worth a thousand words! Hope you enjoy mine!Well Hellooooo there! Happy Monday! And Greetings from the island of Sao Miguel in the Azores! Woo Hoo I am here! And ready to go go go! My plans for the day include, but are not limited to:
I say not limited to, because if I see something else that I'd like to add on once then so be it - I shall! The day started out with picking up our rental, and being that it is a manual transmission - they charge twice as much for an automatic (and there is like only 1 auto transmission car on the entire island!) First things first, were the trials and tribulations of Dave attempting to get us pulled out of the parking spot! He is not trained in the skills of driving a stick shift and was having a very hard time as we were barely inching along in a bucking fashion! Well, it was easily decided that he should sit this one out and be the passenger, and that I'd take the wheel and he can navigate! And so we went... At the Mercado De Graaca, they had baby Pineapples, and giant carrots!!! Bugs Bunny would be so happy! After the market, we continued on foot, sightseeing in Ponta Delgada. (Doing close to 7 miles so far by 3pm) Then we went to see the North side of the island and tour one of only 2 tea plantations in Europe - and they are both here in the Azores! Just beautiful! This place is soooo GREEN, it's kinda like a combination of Hawaii and Ireland! And there are soooo many cows...sadly, you know what that means; They need to keep up the supply of meat. HUGE meat and seafood eaters here! We, had a really tough time searching out food that was not at the one and only vegetarian restaurant. It was impossible so far to find suitable vegan safe food. I'll keep you posted on this. But thank goodness, I brought some protein powder, and a few other staples to hold us over. Boring, but at least I won't starve. And jsyk (just so you know), I have been doing lots of vlogging - but with my limited connections I am having difficulty uploading my videos. So that means there will be a special treat waiting for you once I get back home!! Now to cap off Boston and a few pictures from yesterday: Yesterday was yet another successful and wonderful day spent in Boston! The skies were blue and the wind was definitely blowin'. Brunch was super! The USS Constitution was very cool, the Granary Burial Grounds were surreal, tea was not as expected (to say the least...more on this in a future blog), and magic hour into sunset at the Prudential Sky Deck was just perfect! That'll be it for now dearies. Catch me back here tomorrow for more Azores beauty and fun! And please don't forgot to subscribe and to vote for us --->>>--->>>--->>>--->>> -T |
