Ireland for my 2011 birthday - click on the picture for the story (c)travelincousins.com
I can't even say that this will be a first for me to be flying on my birthday. But it is the first time that I'm flying back from Europe on my birthday.
I know that I usually like to celebrate my birthday in a BIG way, but since we've just spent the past 2 weeks having the time of our lives galavanting through all of Rome and the Vatican City and then across all of Ireland on a "pre-birthday trip" I really have nothing at all to complain about. NADA.
In fact if you didn't already know this - I will really only be home for 3 days before hitting the road once again and this time for a little post birthday celebrating in Phoenix, AZ with some MLB Spring Training games as well as visiting some old friends.
Nobody has EVER said that my life was boring!
However, since it isn't even in the least even a bit boring - I'll have you know that there are things that I definitely get bored with... so just try not to be one of those things and all will be good :)
So while you all send me love, well wishes and lots of wonderful gifts, I'll tell you all about yesterday...
And I'll start here with this: As a reminder, Saturday (St. Patrick's Day) was really only a bit chilly (although some people seriously looked as though they were ready to fall over, freeze and die). It seemed that we were having a "Yellow" weather warning. And then as of yesterday we were having an "Orange" weather warning... Here's my take:
Orange is definitely colder than yellow! LOL
We were off to take a walking tour in the blustery feels like 15F windy, snowy weather.

The tour had concluded at the gardens of St. Patrick's Cathedral and by this point we were all a bit cold, wet, and uncomfortable. Just wanting to go inside to warm up, dry off, and regain feeling in our frozen numb feet.
Being that touring the interior of St. Patrick's Cathedral was on our list, that is straight where we headed. However the line to go inside was super long and we were too cold to wait...

We were also quite a bit hungry and so we headed off to have brunch at Happy Food. Which was a yummy and warm haven for us.

After our meal we had a few more stops on our list before we were finished running around and able to chill out and relax on our last evening in Dublin.
One stop was at Rolling Donuts and as we had approached we found these strangely dressed creatures. I've got to admit that they sort of freakin me out, but I gained the courage to get up close just so that I could get a picture for you!
I still have no clue what this was! (c)travelincousins.com

We were also picking up dinner at Appertivo...
Which turned out to be quite DELISH and had me wishing we had ordered more!!
It was a night of prepping for our flight back home and so I was also planning to return our rented car and stay closer to the airport to make for an easy departure this afternoon.
And I cannot tell you how relaxing and comfortable I was to sit back and just enjoy my evening knowing that everything was in place and that I was just a hotel shuttle away from the terminal.
But of course that is not all - but to hear the rest you've got to meet me back here tomorrow!
Ciao 4 now and Happy Birthday to meeeee, -Travelin' Tanya
