Irish Proverbs and Quotes
Hello!!!
What a beautiful day to be celebrating St. Patrick's Day!!! Over here on Long Island, the sun is shining and while it's a bit brisk, hovering in the high 30's, weather-wise things are cheery and bright!! Last night, I decided to change my plans up for today. Originally, I had planned to drop the girls off at Jo Mar Grooming to catch up on their community service hours and I was going to do my thing (writing, laundry and food shopping); BUT - I really felt the need to have a fun, bonding day with my girls. There is plenty of time for them to do their community service and so, we will be doing our usual weekend brunch today (which we skipped last week) and together, we'll do the necessary grocery shopping. I've realized as a single mom and sole parent, that the most important thing to never lose sight of, is to spend as much valuable time building memories with my girls!!
I thought we'd have some fun today in honor of St. Patrick's Day. How many of these Irish proverbs and quotes have you heard?
Incidentally, it is popular to say "Erin Go Bragh" to others on St. Pat's Day. But, do you know what it means? Erin go Bragh is an English corruption of the phrase Éirinn go Brách in the Irish language. The term brách is equivalent to "eternity" or "end of time," meaning the phrase may be translated literally as "Ireland until eternity" or "Ireland to the end (of time)."

Saint Patrick's Day memories
Hey there and a Happy St. Patrick's Day to you!
Both Elisa and I have had our share of internet and computer issues today, so I will apologize now for the late(ish) posting. Yesterday was a rather full day from taking Cosette to her performance to going for Acai Bowls, to spending time at the AT&T store and then heading up to LA for an early but quite tasty dinner and then to see the MXMTOON concert and finally a sweet stop at Donut Friend. Whew. And yes I had LOTS of pictures. However I have decided to share those with you tomorrow and for now to share with you All Things St. Patrick's Day and I'll start with the beginnings here at Travelin' Cousins...

What a great and fun trip that was! Of course knowing me, I'm already in the midst of working on the plans for next St. Patrick's Day and many other travel ideas that I have up my sleeve.
But for today, I had my pre-birthday pampering session and have helped Dave with his packing for the next 2 weekends that he will be joining us while we are away. More tomorrow, -Travelin' Tanya |
