Elisa's Daily ScoopBusy, Busy DayHow's your weekend going so far? Mine is going well. Have a bunch going on today with the kids. We headed over to Barnes & Noble first thing this morning as the kids need some books to finish up their required book reviews for school. I know we will make a pit stop at Starbucks at the corner of the store for our usual hot chocolates and treats! Can you imagine that these kids are used to having $2 and $3 drinks? Well, I suppose there are worse things in life. After Barnes & Noble, me, Gianna and Kelsey drove to Denise's house. Since i had a few errands to take care of, Denise offered to have me drop the girls off. Gianna LOVES Denise and her two adorable kiddies. Really warms my heart that I know Gianna connects to well to people that are special in my life. Later this evening, after getting the kids from Denise's and serving the troops dinner, I'll be going out yet again, to meet my friend Theresa for coffee. Theresa is a dear, childhood friend of my sister's who works to help market companies, particularly with their exposure through social media and other outlets. Going to see what ideas she may have in mind for Travelin' Cousins. Tanya and I decided that it is time for us to bring Travelin' Cousins to the next level and so folks, we have lots of new and exciting things we are working on to increase our fan base and reach!!! Stay tuned as we'll be revealing these things soon! And lastly, have you checked out our newest page??? 15 for 2015!!! We have compiled lists and lists of fun facts, travel information and ratings. Alright, so let me tell you about last night! The night started with a drive into the city in the icky, wet weather. Pre-theatre dinner reservations at Bond 45 on West 45th Street, a few blocks from the Schoenfeld Theatre. In a nutshell, the restaurant gets a top rating from me. The atmosphere, the service and the food were terrific. I'll be doing a Foodie Friday review for you next week, and I'll share all the specific details. A short block and a half walk west to the theatre in the rain, and we arrived with time to spare before The Audience began. Helen Mirren led an incredibly talented cast and together they gave a spectacular performance of Queen Elizabeth's "Audiences" with the twelve prime ministers of England during her 60+ years as the sovereign of the United Kingdom. Please check back Monday for my Entertainment review of The Audience. REMEMBER TO VOTE--->>>--->>> Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!! Meet you back here tomorrow for the start of a brand new week. -E xoxo | Tanya's Daily ScoopIt's a Fly By weekend! It's Sunday Yo! Well, neither yesterday nor today did we have the opportunity to get any extra sleep this weekend. Actually when my alarm woke me up this morning I turned it off wondering "why on Earth did I set the alarm so early this morning?" Initially not remembering that we had another long day ahead of us...not to mention that keeping my late hours does nothing to help the situation! Today will be day 2 of the International Children's Day Festival at the Aquarium Pacific in Long Beach, California. Going back to yesterday, we had Day 1 at the Aquarium which was more like a hit and run performance, because we had so much else to do (at the mall)...Shopping people!!! In all seriousness, I really did NEED to go shopping, my birthday is on Thursday, and we leave on Friday, don't get back until Monday, March 30th, and then only have 6 days until Easter! So the kids had a pretty nice performance. They all did a great job singing and danced very well, but the sound technician at the aquarium didn't exactly "know" his stuff! UGH And now to vent ever so slightly... There was a bit of DRAMA outside of the aquarium prior to some of the parents heading inside. Let's all remember that we are there with our kids who are Ambassadors representing "Peace" with the International Peace Choir! Those of us who are DRAMA MAMAS should leave the dirty laundry at home and attempt to set a good example in life. Really people? Did ya not get enough DRAMA in high school??? How could we expect the best of our children, if all they witness is the worst in us? I'm sure that you realize or at least I sure hope that you realize that I am talking about someone else. I continually strive to set a good example in the world - not only for my own children but for society in general. Next up was Dominic's class, and then lunch before hitting the mall. After lunch we quickly walked through the market and were looking to pick up some seaweed and some gum - interesting shopping list huh?! lol We found out that the store was out of the particular gum that I chew, so Cosette and Dominic began suggesting other gum choices... I'm sorry I only like one type of gum. Period. After turning down several "other" gums, Dave B & Cosette told me that I was "difficult". Well, I am NOT "difficult". Perhaps I'm hard to please (because I know exactly what I want), but I am not difficult. Next up was the mall, and several hours of non-stop shopping! I found lots, and was quite happy with our visit. I'd also like to give props to Dave B, Dominic, and Cosette for all being such 'Troopers' and following me around in-and-out of store after store after store! Thanks guys! And then there was dinner...we visited a restaurant that I haven't been to in many years and I'll tell ya all about it in this weeks Foodie Friday! Look out for it! So now that brings us back to today and back to the Aquarium! Being that I was so successful at the mall yesterday, we are gonna stay at the Aquarium and check things out for a bit after the kids performance and there is also the possibility that Jet, Andrew, and Chaplin might come on by and join in wondering about amongst the fish! I'll let ya know... If you see me out there, come stop by and say "Hi" -T |
