Tanya's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY IN: ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Howdy Howdy Howdy! I've gotta admit that this has been a pretty busy week so far. Plus, yesterday I had a "quick" trip (work not pleasure) up to Fairfield, Ca. (the town next to Napa). It was a road trip and needless to say a rather LONG day. After being caught in a good amount of traffic, I'm just glad that I didn't arrive back home even later than I did. Which was over 2 hours later than expected. Total time being just over 17 hours from the time I left at 5:30a until the time I rolled back in at 10:34p. Whew. You never know what you're gonna see from the road... Here we happened to pass a Club Motor Cross event happening in Livermore, CA. And then not too long after that we came across this mess: Luckily I was not alone out there and DY was also helping with the driving. Especially because come Yankees game time, I was done with my turn behind the wheel. Eager and ready to sit back and watch the game from my phone via MLB.TV. Which I must admit as to how fortunate I was that I wasn't in the SoCal market, because all the local games are BLACKED OUT and poor Cosette (who was at home) was not able to view it. It seems that no matter how poorly the LAA are doing in the standings and no matter how strong the NYY have been playing, it's as though the LAA have our number and can easily beat us at our own game. So it was a real nail bitter with quite a bit of BS due to the terrible ump calls. But in the end we held on to our short lead and won the game. Then on Tuesday night there were a number of us there at the game in Anaheim (although being that the tickets were purchased seperately we were not all seated together). And tonight we have another group going to the game (all seated together this time). Tuesday's game was close, but in the end we gave up our lead and we lost the first game of the 3 game series. Now let's transition to talk about Lighthouses! DID YOU KNOW: Those who study or are enthused by lighthouses are known as Pharologists. My love of lighthouses started many years ago and most certainly came from my beloved Grandmother. Oh how she adored these Beacons of Hope. I can honestly say that I'm thrilled this was passed down to me; Even as a child I have been drawn to and quite fond of lighthouses. Go figure. LOL Thinking about it now I must have appeared to be one very interesting little kid! LOL And now as an adult, this fascination still resides from deep within and I really cannot help but find myself being drawn to the mystique history and everlasting beauty of these "Beacons of Hope" known as Lighthouses. So while I have toured coastlines all over the world, up and down the US West Coast and much of the Eastern Seaboard. It's been quite known and almost expected for me to spot, stop and go out of the way for lighthouses all along these very many journeys. Some might say that I have seen more lighthouses than I can count (just a figure of speech, of course I can count that high LOL). And yet with all of that being said, my excitement really began when Elisa and I started chatting about doing a little 'Cousins New England Lighthouse Road Trip'. I mean what could be better than sharing our love of lighthouses together and with each other?! Please follow along as we take you on a little trip back to August 2021 on our Cousins New England Lighthouse Road Trip... Ciao 4 now, Travelin' Tanya | Elisa's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY IN: LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK Hi there and a big hello! Here we are at Thursday already - boy, have these weeks been flying by. This has been a busy week for me, and it will only get busier. This weekend, my baby girl Kelsey will be graduating high school! The rest of the week, she has some fun "senior" events happening, so I'll be running around with her for these festivities. Tonight was her "Senior Send Off". I was beyond thrilled when I saw the lovely sunshine because this senior celebration is an outdoor event. I think I mentioned it a few blogs ago, but next week, me and the girls and my mom are going on a mini-road trip to Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I'm sooo looking forward to blogging and vlogging along the way, taking lots of photos and writing about all of our touring and foodie adventures -- so stay tuned!! Last time I was there was way back in October 2015!! Gianna and I took a mini road trip down there and stayed in the town of Lititz. I'm sure we will venture back through there this time! With today being Thursday, Tanya and I thought it would be lots of fun to bring you a "Throwback Thursday" story about our Cousins New England Lighthouse Road Trip back in August 2021! If you've been following us through the years, you know just how much Tanya and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Lighthouses!! In fact, between the two of us, we have some really cool Lighthouse Memories. One of my favorites was The Great Staten Island Lighthouse Hunt back in October of 2020. That is why we decided to devote a whole summer vacay to visiting some a number of these lovely beacons of light up through New England. Enjoy our adventure below!! - Travelin' Elisa |
