Good Day!! Woke up to another sunny day here on the east end of Long Island. What I love best about being here in Remsenburg (Westthampton) is the peace and quiet. I think I had mentioned before that we live up the street from a marina. Many a night in the summer, we will hear the music being played on one of the docked boats. It's loud enough to hear, but distant enough not to be a nuisance and it just makes it feel so much like Summer.
We never made it into town yesterday because we had some company. Gianna and Kelsey's friend from the barn came for the day with her mom, so we just hung out by the pool all day, chatting and eating, while the kids rotated from splashing and playing in the pool to jumping on the trampoline. We ended the day with an evening tradition out here - making smores in the yard by our fire pit!

I did manage a little productivity yesterday, prior and after enjoying our guests by editing one of my travel articles to meet the requirements of one of the online travel sites. I had to practically cut the piece in half, which was no easy feat! I will do the same today with another article and keep you posted as to whether it has been accepted! Today we are going to see Sarah's dog's new puppies and will make it into town for a walk around and some dessert!
Yesterday proved to me just how much I love travel writing, Travelin' Cousins blog, and writing for you! It never feels like work! Moreover, anywhere I am with my phone or laptop, makes it possible to share great information and experiences -- even in a bathing suit, poolside in the Hamptons!!
Hope you love what it is you do!

It's your life! Own it!
Well today I had the luxury of a sleep in! How lovely it was! I don't get to do it very often, but on the occasion that I do, I definitely enjoy it! I have odd sleeping habits altogether. Basically I just do whatever I want, I guess that's just the way my life is anyway, so why not be the same with my sleep habits?! For one, I don't like sleeping late. So you'd think that would mean that I would go to bed at a reasonable time...nope that ain't me! I stay up until all hours (as long as the lights are still turned on) and then finally decide that I should probably get some sleep. And the minute the lights go out and I shut my eyes I'm out for the count! But like I said I refuse to wake up late, so even if it means I'm only gonna get a few hours (or sometimes less) that's what I do. Now this is not to say that I don't doze off on flights or during certain car rides where I am the passenger, or even at the computer when I am really exhausted but just fighting it...because I sure as heck DO! Today is just a kick back kinda day. Originally we were going to head to a horse show and then go all the way out to Viva La Vegan, which is in Rancho Cucamonga. But since the trainer is still out sick, I decided that we'll kinda stay local. Hit a few stores, maybe go on a bike ride, go to lunch, and fit in some tennis this evening. Hope you get to enjoy your Sunday in a way that makes you happy!
As for date day/night it was very nice. Lunch was good, but not great. The Getty Center was quite enjoyable. The only error was on my part by hitting the exhibits before the gardens, because by the time we got out to their beautiful gardens the lighting was sucky and I couldn't get the pictures that I wanted. Next time. After that we shot over to dinner and had a very nice candle lit meal.
I love Elisa's quote today, and how she feels the same way that I do about writing for Travelin' Cousins! No matter how much time is spent, it never feels like work! And how fantastic is it to live in a day and age where because of technology we can do this just about anywhere! In fact there are so many fields where you can do the same and work remotely. Just imagine being in your favorite location and doing something you love! It's more than possible, and if you want it, then go after it and do it! No excuses! You couldn't possibly think that we are just more fortunate and that we are the lucky ones. Because I assure you that we've had our share of problems just the same as everyone else. The difference is I DO NOT FIX MY PROBLEMS. I FIX MY THINKING. THEN PROBLEMS FIX THEMSELVES.
