We decided to come out east this weekend and take advantage of the great weather. I can't be alone in loving these long days and having daylight till close to 9pm!!! That makes the unbearable heat that sometimes comes with summer, just so worth it! My nephew Nolan is out here with us this weekend. Not having sons, I love the different dynamic with a boy! I didn't make definite plans for the weekend, but one thing I know is that I will be working on my Entertainment review of Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill, which I saw this past Wednesday evening. I think we'll probably go into Westhampton Beach some time today to walk around and have dessert. On a nice night, it's really nice to leisurely walk up and down Main Street and either grab some ice cream or a baked goodie and a coffee or tea. We did that the last time we were out here and I think we are due for a similar evening again. As for earlier today, I'm going to be all about fitness. Going for a long walk as well as a long bicycle ride. I'm so overdue for a good work out. This week was filled with activities, but not much exercising. Back on the wagon starting today! Oh, and before I forget to mention it - both Tanya and I will be blogging daily while traveling in August, specifically about our trips and all the sites, meals and adventures we have each day!!! Do plan to tune in!! And, if you want to share any of what we write, did you know you can forward via "email prompt" at the bottom of the page? Happy to report, my Liberty got a clean bill of health - in fact the vet was overjoyed at how energetic and mobile she is. Poor girl had a bout with doggie vertigo and several herniated spinal disks over the winter from a fall she took during the vertigo. Of course, I was a total mess! Sleeping on the couch for a month because Liberty couldn't climb steps to be with us at night; hand feeding her since it hurt to eat out of the bowl and let's not forget crying and praying that she would be ok. Tedd even built a ramp for her out our back door so she wouldn't have to climb the patio steps. But today, except for being left with a slight head tilt from the vertigo (very common), she is doing great...and I am one happy fur baby mommy!
Date Day & Night!
As most local SoCal Saturday mornings go, we'll be starting the day by taking Dominic to his fitness class. For the remainder the day I'll be out on a date...with Dave! I even have a new dress for my date! Gotta get all prettified! First we'll be heading up to LA for lunch at a highly rated and top reviewed restaurant Bulan Thai Vegetarian Kitchen, that somehow I've yet try. The menu looks pretty delish! Next we're going to The Getty Center. We've both been there before - just never together. So it's been quite a few years since either of us has visited. Plus right now they have the "In Focus: Ansel Adams" exhibit that runs until July 20th, something that I've been looking rather forward to checking out. Photography and National Parks...of course I've been looking forward to seeing it!! To end our evening, we've got dinner reservations at Crossroads Kitchen - our usual date night dining experience. Because it's usually that good! They've just unveiled their summer menu and we can't wait to go test it out!
As for yesterday, I reserved our tickets for Independence Hall, ordered tickets to the Phillies game, and booked our tour at the Houses of Parliament. I did my workout, and I managed to pull a muscle in my calf, but yet I was still up for a game of tennis! Just like me to push myself! Anyhow, I was fine during tennis. Then I got home feeling the same. Pain but tolerable...until I came down the staircase and totally strained something awful. I can't really put much pressure on my right calf or foot. I'm limping and it hurts. After carefully reviewing my symptoms, I've concluded that I probably only have a Grade 1 Calf Strain. So I guess this means I won't be wearing super cute shoes for my hot date! LOL
