I have to admit, I got a great deal accomplished yesterday. Kelsey and I spent most of the day together shopping. We hit a sales in Sears and she managed to get two bathing suits for less than the price of one!
We headed into town afterwards and enjoyed a leisurely lunch.
It was a much-needed bonding day for me and my youngest!
If you read my Scoop yesterday, you know that I have a surprise on a new destination I want to visit.
Well, the other day while I was at the pool, sunbathing while the girls were jumping around in the pool - I started thinking about how nice it would be to go somewhere very out of the ordinary.
You know how much I LOVE traveling with my girls, but I had the idea that it might be good for the soul to do a short solo adventure.
So...I did a few searches for "Singles" travel and decided to look at tours to...Russia!
Yes! I've always wanted to visit Moscow and St. Petersburg.
And the tour I found really sounded perfect! It's a short and sweet, in and out tour of Moscow and St. Petersburg, hitting all the best sights including St. Basil's Cathedral, Red Square, The Hermitage and so many more!

The price was very reasonable - roughly $1650 and that was for single room accommodations. It didn't include international airfare, however.
Honestly, I'm not sure this tour company is the best one, in the end, with whom to make this trip but it was definitely a starting point for me in my excitement for this new travel destination obsession of mine!!
Anyway, I broached the subject with the girls - about Mommy going away for a week in the late Fall and you would have thought I had proposed a death sentence to them
They actually freaked at the thought of me going away for a week! So, I'm thinking this may not be the best idea this year lol. With all the adjustments they are dealing with I'll just stay put, but, it was a nice little fantasy AND it will absolutely be added into my calendar in the upcoming years.
Back to reality... have some things to get done around the house today. More laundry (does it ever end??), some grocery shopping, need gas and if the weather holds out, we'll take a ride to the community pool later.
That's it for me. Enjoy your Monday!!
Tanya's Daily Scoop NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: 5 DAYS
I hit the Jackpot!!!
Hiya Hiya Hiya!
T'was another great weekend filled with adventure, fun and good food! What a perfect combo!
And today is the start of a brand new week...can you really believe that we are at the end of June ALREADY?!
Where the heck does time go? I'm mean I'm out there having fun and all, but time sure can fly!
Ya know what I hadn't mentioned to y'all? Is that I only just finished unpacking from our amazing trip to the Azores and Beyond (lots beyond) on last Friday!!! Yea, I know it's crazy - but after being gone for 3 weeks, it took me a while to get through and sort out all of our bags.
And just in time right?! I need to get right back to it and pack for our upcoming trip to Portland...only 5 more days!!
Looking at the calendar, I don't think we have a free weekend from here on out until September 17/18, which I've already had to book an IPC Board Retreat for one of those days - so technically it's not free. And then we are off and running again with our days and weekends being jam packed until Cosette's birthday weekend in October!
So I guess the answer is right there in front of me as to how time flies - when you are so busy that you barely have time to look at the calendar - when you finally do catch a glimpse it seems like an entire chunk of time has passed you by - but then when I go and look at my pictures or the dailies from that chunk of time I can't believe how much I've done!!!
Not many people can keep up, and quite honestly...not many people really want to! We've all got the lead and live the life that make us happy!
After a fun and exciting Saturday in San Diego, we were back in Orange County yesterday and had to go pick up my little Harry Potter fan from her sleepover. The girls powered through and watched a marathon of 4 Harry Potter movies and once I arrived and had got caught up chatting with the host, the girls had even started on number 5
When it was finally time to leave, we headed over to have lunch at a pizza joint that I've been curious about - Pizzanista.
And you won't hear me say this very often, but they make some GOOD pizza! Generally speaking, you won't even find me interested in taking a bite of the local California take on pizza - I'll do all my indulging in NYC and Italy! But this pizza really hit the spot, and not only that but they also carried Manhattan Special - umm like one of my all-time favorite drinks on the planet! And one that you just don't find out here on the west coast. Call me stoked!!
After chowing down with Dave, Cosette, and her friend Jamie, it was time to drop Jamie off at home and get on over to my nail salon. I was so happy to have made my mani/pedi appointment for the day after our Gladiator Run - which kinda screwed up my nails, not to mention the ground in dirt from all the mud that we played in!! LOL
And was that it? Of course not, it was time to go and see Finding Dory.
It was a family affair - me, Dave, Dominic, Cosette, my mom, Jet, Andrew, Chaplin, and family friend Matt who all sat side by side, laughing together and we all really loved the movie!
Then we still had to go shopping! Off to Target and to Mother's we went, and then home for a traditionally late Italian dinner!
DID YOU KNOW: That it is custom and quite typical in Italy and other parts of Southern Europe to eat dinner well after 9pm. This is when the streets really come alive with locals!
Today we are off to choir, and I've got some chores to take care of - I know...nothing exciting - but we need clean clothes too!
Catch ya back here tomorrow for another edition of Travelin' Tuesday...
