It's the First Sunday of Summer! So, it's seems the longest day of the year ran a bit over into today! We went to go catch the late show to see Jersey Boys the Movie. Unlike Elisa, we have yet to see the stage production, but if the movie was any indication I have a feeling that we are going to really enjoy it! I was bopping around in my seat singing along with the oldies (but such goodies)! The day really all went along as planned! It started at Breakfast where I didn't mind enjoying my waffle while I was busy snapping away taking pictures! Dave ventured out and ordered the Buckwheat Walnut Pancakes - I kid you not... He said that that were the Enchilada of pancakes! And if you've following along, and getting your daily fix on the daily, then you'd know that there is no higher standard then the ENCHILADA!!! Anyhow, I've finally managed to upload pictures to my "naked" Foodie Friday review of Freesoulcaffe! Dominic's wrist was pretty much back to normal for his classes. Great news! The La Tar Pits was a huge hit; although Cosette thought that she was going to be soooooo bored! Dinner at Shojin was terrific, and Dessert at Donut Friend...So freaking GOOD!!! On a whole, the day was great! And it even ended on a very high note. I got a message from a friend (who is overseas) that she just found out that she had won a pending trial that had already made a huge impact on her life since late 2010. So very very happy and excited for her!!! As for today, we are all heading to The International Peace Choir Annual Picnic. I'm certain that this is going to be loads of fun! And I'm pretty sure that tonight is Classic Movie night (at home). I'll be updating you on everything tomorrow! Same place. Same time. "One small positive thought in the morning can change your whole day." -Unknown Have a Smashing Sunday! -T | Musical Sunday!Hello! Love the sound of the chirping birds first thing in the morning! Though I don't love the heat of summer, I do love the greens, the blooms, the birds and the aliveness of this season! Today is Kelsey's piano recital. Each year in June, the Garden City Music Academy has its annual recital. This will be Kelsey's 3rd year and she's going to be playing Take Me Out To The Ball Game! I know Tanya will get a kick out of that one with her love of baseball! It's a very nice event since they hold it in a restaurant and everyone enjoys a full course meal while watching and listening to the students play and sing. There are even some student-teacher jam sessions! It's always a very inspiring day to see so much talent. So, it's seems the longest day of the year ran a bit over into today! Well, I was not able to book our day in the city this coming Thursday for the Cupcake Tour because the company only offers certain Thursdays and weekends throughout the month. I'm not sure which day will work now because after this week, the kids have a very busy schedule both mid-week and on the weekends. Gianna will be going to cooking camp during the next week and then to day camp for 2 weeks with some friends for an equestrian program. Then she and Kelsey will do the camp program together at our regular barn on weekends and the rest of July. But, I'm sure I will figure something out - a tour of 6 cupcake shops, with tastings at each is too good to pass up as a summer activity! Plus, through Amazon Local, I was able to purchase a voucher good for four people for $80 (regularly $200), so a good deal always makes me more enthusiastic!! My day was very productive yesterday as I submitted several travel articles to various online sites and wrote one for our blog! Lots to share this coming week, including a guest blogger, who will share her recent travel adventures in Africa!! Please, keep spreading the word about our site! We would love more subscribers. If you enjoy our blog, forward the email you receive with our daily and a short note suggesting that your friends subscribe to Travelin' Cousins Travel Blog!! Thanks for your support!! Have a wonderful day today! -E |
