In NYC - trip day 2
GREETINGS FROM NEW YORK CITY!
Hey everyone!
We arrived here last night after a long day of traveling from SoCal and having a connection through Houston and we are now here in NYC doing some family visiting.
The flights were both fairly mellow with only slight turbulence...
However the Capitan on the second flight had commented over the PA system that the flight attendants "take your jump seats please!" I must say that this was a bit alarming! I fly all of the time and have maybe heard this announcement once. So you could imagine my concern. However what came next was such incredibly mild and unworthy turbulence that I actually found it quite amusing! After that each and every time that any turbulence was expected the Capitan would again announce "take your jump seats please!" Okay this time I was like - WHATEVER! And then without any warning the flight took a a big JUMP where even the flight attendant quickly grabbed the hand of a nearby gentleman. I kinda found this a bit humorous being that she must experience turbulence all of the time!!! Anyhow we finally arrived to LGA and landed 16 minutes early, we were scheduled to arrive at a gate that was open and ready to us and then only to be changed to an occupied gate and a 30 minute wait time on the runway. UGH Landing in the NEW United terminal at LaGuardia - which btw was pretty nice! Once we grabbed our luggage we were on our way to pick up a rental and head on over to my grandma's house. Just some hanging out and catching up after that. Today is a mellow day without much schedule. We're heading out to do some shopping soon and we'll just continue our visiting for the remainder of the day. Scheduled to meet up with Elisa on Monday. We will also be heading to the Yankees game that night. So much fun to be had! I look forward to meeting you back tomorrow, -Travelin' Tanya |
Heading to The Bronx LGBT Expo
Happy Saturday!!
Well, this is a quickie - wanted to say hi quickly before I get going to cover a story for ThisIsTheBronx.info. Today is the first Bronx LGBT Expo, which is essentially an expo featuring LGBT-owned Bronx businesses gathered together to share what they have to offer the community. Additionally, there will be a major focus on mental health with a special panel made up of mental health professionals . Last but not least, there will also be food!! So, I'll tell you all about it tomorrow!! Have a great day!! -Travelin' Elisa xoxo |
