Happy Father's Day!
Happy Sunday to all!
And Happy Father's Day to all of the Dads and Father figures out there!
Ya know it's kind of funny, and I hadn't thought about it until now, but yesterday while I was getting my hair done and chatting it up with the stylist there was a story being told. The story included a guy who had 7 kids - he had 7 kids with 7 different women!!!
Come on now...really?!
I didn't really get into this part with my stylist, but do ya really think that this guy is much of a father figure to these children or provides support to these kids??? Somehow I DON'T.
Call me cynical - but I've heard one too many stories about dead-beat dads. And I know, because I had one.
My mom did it all, best she could. And thank God for her and for my Grandparents! She stayed home and cared for us, as a mother should and with no help whatsoever from my Father. The time spent with your children is by far the MOST important thing that you can give them. Please make sure that you take care of your kids and give them your attention and love!
I'm not here to go on a rant. But I do want to acknowledge all of the wonderful and responsible folks out there who step up to the plate and make a difference in the lives of children. Kudos to you!
Let us never forget that the children of today are the leaders of tomorrow. Our children are our future!
Father's Day here in SoCal for us is going to be filled with heading up to LA for breakfast, then the plan "was" to go up to the Getty as a surprise for Dave C. --- I say was, because...well, no sooner than right now - did I just find out that the exhibit doesn't open until July 3rd!!! UGH
Ya see, Dave C. and I were discussing Gustav Klimt a few weeks ago. Dave told me that he had an exhibit at the Getty. Sooooo I came up with the idea to take him on a surprise visit to on Father's Day to see the exhibit! Apparently Dave didn't notice that the exhibit isn't current. I'm so glad that I just looked at the website, rather than head all the way over there and the surprise would be on me, being shocked with disappointment. Wow.
So when I woke him and told him the plan/surprise (which he had already figured out) he decided that he still wants to go! And then the rest of the day will be filled with seeing Jurassic World, and enjoying a special Sunday Night Dinner at home with the family.
As far as how yesterday went... After Dominic's class, I went to get my hair done, then we headed to do a bit of Christmas shopping - as per request by Dominic!
In the car "selfie" to show you my hair! lol
Then to my mani/pedi appointment... Well upon reaching the nail salon I received info from Elisa about our rail confirmations. This is when my afternoon got turned upside down!!! I had the utmost WORST manicure EVER. Not the my girl did a bad job - I actually love how my nails look. But that I couldn't relax for a second...
The dates were off!!! I leave tomorrow and the dates are off!!! I assumed that the dates were off for our hotels. I immediately got on the phone calling to find out about making the adjustments.
Well as we all know, that since we are checking in this week I found that either the hotels had been fully booked or what rooms were left that the prices have sky rocketed through the roof!
If I tell you that I was losing it, it would be an understatement! I was so stressed out and having an anxiety attack, texting Elisa like crazy as she was heading to the movies. She somehow was remaining quite relaxed and keeping her calm. Telling me that she would reconfirm the dates on the rail tickets when she got home. Remaining very calm, cool, and collected. Kudos cuz!
I on the other hand was a bundle of nerves for hours to come and still had to head home to change my clothes and head to a party.
During my brief stint at home, I looked up an old email that I had been copied on that was from Elisa to Stephan (the travel agent) in regards to the dates for the train tickets...and guess what?! Two of the dates were off - which now have to be fixed/repaired/changed otherwise our entire itinerary which we have spent months and months on and that Elisa has put so much time into will be totally wrecked - other tickets, tours etc...will be lost. You get the picture. So Elisa was going to contact Stephan right away to take care of this. What a Day! Still waiting on the status...
The party went very well, it was a Fiesta theme, we all had a lovely time, lots of travel talk (which is always fun!), the weather was perfect, and the food was delicious!
Yay! Vegan cupcakes!!!
Amongst the travel conversation was the question:
Where haven't I been that I would love to go?
And while I do have a "bucket list" found HERE - the Top 5 places that I mentioned last night were:
GREECE SICILY ST PETERSBURG PATAGONIA IGUAZU FALLS
So many places to go, and so many things to do! I'm gonna wrap it up here for today, I hope that you have a great day however you choose to spend it!
See ya back here tomorrow, -T

I'm just so thrilled that the weather turned out to be a bright, sunny day after all!! The forecast predicted rain all week - I think God is shining down on all the dads here on Long Island today!
It's so funny, how as you grow up and become a parent yourself, you come to realize just how great or how bad (sadly, in many cases), your own dad was.
While I never agreed with many of the things my dad did, as I've gotten older, I realize just how hard of a job parenting truly is, and that my success as a person, is largely based on the values and example he set for me growing up.
I want to thank you Dad for all you have done for me - all the talks, all the advice, all the help, the laughs, the gifts, both emotional and material.
You have given me so much and I hope I have made you proud through the years!!! I love you!!
