Elisa's Daily Scoop Covering Long Island & NYC Boroughs NEXT EVENT IN: 9 DAYS: MEAN GIRLS ON BROADWAY
Travel & Everyday First Aid Tips
Hi there! Hot one here on Long Island, but I guess that's what summer is all about.
Today I will be focusing on "scheduling."
Scheduling my summer, places I'll be going - mostly for day trips. I have a long list of visits I want to make this summer, with and without the kids.
Of course I have a few mini trips scheduled for July - one to the Hudson Valley Hot Air Balloon Festival and another to Scranton, Pennsylvania.
However, I also have my sights set on hitting a number of local destinations here on Long Island, The Bronx, Queens and Brooklyn. I'm hoping to get that list published either tomorrow or Thursday for you to view.
Additionally, I need to do some updating of our Travelin' Cousins website. Landing pages needed to be added for my two above mentioned upcoming trips, as well as one for Kelsey's 13th Birthday Disney Trip.
Later in the week, I'll be working on more details for my trio's Sicily trip next Summer.
Whew!!! Lots to do.
Anyhoo, I came across a great article in Travel & Leisure today about first aid, entitled:
I don't know about you, but I always have a first aid kit with me. For everyday purposes, I picked up a small $.99 mini kit at the pharmacy that fits into my hand bag. It contains the bare necessities of bandages, anti-bacterial cream, antiseptic wipes and gauze.
However, when I travel, I take along additional items in a larger kit, which has things like liquid Benedryl, tweezers, a variety of bandages and instant hot and cold compresses.
In her article, Elizabeth Kricfalusi of RealSimple.com details some remedies as well as the do's and don'ts for 8 common injuries including
A Bloody Nose
Object in the Eye
A Blow to the Head
These are great tips to be aware of, whether you are home or traveling!
Off to work for the day!!! See ya tomorrow!!

Initial planning stages for Sicily 2019
Good Day everyone!
It's another Tuesday and I've got a pretty darn full day ahead of me with "not so exciting" things to do, I'll get on with it as quickly as possible...
Funny how today Elisa will be focusing on scheduling. Honestly I think that is great & I look forward to seeing all that she has in mind.
Especially what she has in mind for Sicily, as I am still hoping that at least a portion of that trip can be a Cousins Trip back to the Homeland!
But you know me and because my mind is constantly in a Travel and Food mode -
I don't go a day without "scheduling".
Maybe that is why I have trips booked out all the way into 2026! LOL
Speaking of Sicily 2019, I seriously began working on our initial planning list what seems like a few weeks ago, but since time is such a weird thing for me, it could've actually been only a couple of weeks ago. All I know is that it definitely wasn't last week and it definitely has been since getting back from my Poland/Germany and More trip.
Here's what is on my list so far:
Agrigento - Valle dei Templi
Palermo - The Palatine Chapel Martorana The Capuchin Catacombs
Taormina - Ancient theatre of Taormina Piazza IX Aprile,Taormina
Maybe Noto - Noto Cathedral
I know it's not much, but it's a start. And of course I'll be adding to this and keep you posted along the way.
I hate to run, but this day is already flying by and as much as I would prefer to continue giving you the scoop and I've got a little story to tell. It's gonna have to wait until tomorrow.
