Time for Travelin' Tuesday!Hey!! Hope the week is going great for you! Yesterday was a very rainy day, but you know what? I actually enjoyed it. It was very mild here in New York and I didn't mind running around doing my errands in the rain. Hoping I wont mind the same thing today again, or tomorrow for that matter, since rain is predicted until Thursday - I'm sure I'll be complaining at some point. A big shout out to my mom, Camille, for commenting on our Entertainment Reviews blog yesterday!! We will be theatre pals again in a few weeks when we go to see Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill - yet another Tony Award winner last night - Miss Audra McDonald - whose acceptance speech brought tears to my eyes! Today and tomorrow are the last Girl Scout meetings for both Gianna and Kelsey's troops, both of which I'm co-leader. The school year is winding down with only 7 days left. Woo Hoo!!! Summer is almost here! Tanya and I were busy little beavers yesterday, and spent several hours working on our New Mexico Road Trip. We have been working so hard on our blog lately, that it was great to work on a travel itinerary! Check out all the fun stuff we have planned for the Albuquerque part of our trip in Part 5 of Elisa & Tanya's New Mexico Road trip today. And speaking of trip planning - I'm moving right along on tying up some loose ends for my Italy trip in August. We are completely set with our flights; private apartments in Rome and Florence; an agritourismo in the Tuscan Countryside, and a hotel in Venice. Our rail tickets are booked and in hand for our train rides round trip between Florence and Venice and from Florence to Rome (for our departure). Transportation wise, all we need to do is finalize our rental car for driving from Rome to the Tuscan countryside and or our entire week traveling to various cities and towns including Pisa, Sienna and Lucca. Last but not least, me, mom and Tedd need to finalize our activities and sites itinerary for the various cities. I will share more about my Italy trip next Tuesday as we work on this during the coming week. I did manage to get a recommendation for a tour guide in Florence, from Luz Bimbo of Paris Upperside, my good friend and tour guide during our trip to Paris last year. Excited to make contact with this referral this week! Travel and change of place impart new vigor to the mind. ~Seneca -E | So many places; Only one me.So the meeting I had last night was actually a board meeting, I thought I was heading into a travel meeting! Turned out for the first few minutes of the meeting I was a bit discombobulated, as I wasn't prepared for a board meeting. But oh well, it all worked out and turned out to be a successful meeting. Earlier in the day Elisa and I did a fun bunch of planning and research for our New Mexico Road Trip in October, which is coming along great. Check out Part 5 in our planning to keep up with all our new additions to the trip! In other travel news: I still haven't booked Hawaii yet. I don't exactly know where to fit it in. I'm not planning on it for this year, but maybe late 2015 or spring 2016? I've gotta figure it out. I was also reviewing tons of vegan menus from restaurants across the country to plug in to several of our upcoming trips. I also finalized our plans for this weekend. We're heading up to Santa Barbara and Lompoc on Saturday, and then going to the Pasadena Chalk Festival on Sunday (Father's Day). As for today, pretty much more of the same, and then doing some submissions. Cross your fingers! The best way to keep up with us is to subscribe! Don't be shy. We are not selling your email address or anything of the sort. We just want to make sure that you don't miss out on any of our fun! And although I just got back from fantastic trip to Italy only a couple of months ago, I am super excited for Elisa's trip! I would totally be there! I love love love Italy! But again, our schedules aren't matching up. I can't join Elisa and family because I'll be on our UK/Scandinavia trip. Why can't I just do everything?! I want to do everything! Don't drink, don't smoke, what do I do.... Traveling is my Drug of Choice! -T |
