Summer FeverDoes anyone else feel like Summer is already here? The weather has been so nice the past few days and I'm having a hard time (and so are my kids) getting through these last few weeks of school. This coming week is finals for both of my daughters and they are so not in the mood to study this weekend. Well, maybe I can make it more palatable by doing it outside in the yard - we'll see. Today I hope you enjoy Part 2 of my trip to Prague and Vienna, with Family Day at The Spanish Riding School. It was quite a delightful experience! This morning I woke up thinking about how, I was going to look at the calendar and fill in some fun summer activities for the few remaining weekends in July. We will more than likely base ourselves most of the month in Remsenburg and enjoy the many summer activities and events taking place on the east end of Long Island. I'm looking forward to sharing my plans with you, once they are finalized! Time for me to get out walking before the chore of quizzing kids all afternoon! Till tomorrow!! Each fairy breath of summer, as it blows with loveliness, inspires the blushing rose. ~Author Unknown -E | What a night...!I can be a real knuclehead at times. As according to schedule last night, we followed through with going to play Tennis, although it was actually after picking Cosette up from her pool party, and Liz didn't make it. First, I had to shoo come semi rude kids off of the tennis court, and then feeling uncomfortable leaving my pocketbook on the bench that was fairly close to these kids, I placed it next to the fence that was directly behind me. So come 9:45pm the lights go out! We had remembered closing time being 10pm, and figured that we only needed to turn the lights back on. We waited for the lights to recharge, puttering around for a few minutes, and still nothing. So we decided that our night had come to an end 15 minutes early, picked up all of the loose tennis balls via flashlight, and started heading home. It wasn't until around midnight when I realized I left my sneakers in the living room and going to fetch them and put them away that I thought about my pocketbook! Oh crappies! I left it at the tennis courts :( With no time to spare I ran upstairs and quickly told Dave, we hopped in the truck and hurried back to the tennis courts. All the while fighting off thoughts of what could possibly a HUGE pain in my butt if somebody stole my bag! Sitting in silence, I reasoned with myself back and forth "It has to still be there!" "It's a good neighborhood!" "Those kids must've left from the other exit!" "If the lights didn't turn on for us, they must be out for the night!" "How much money did I have in there?" "How long is it going to take to cancel all of my credit cards and get the replacements?" 'How long is giving a police report going to take?" UGH! "IT HAS TO STILL BE THERE!" We pull up to the courts in total darkness which is my first relief! I rush out of the truck and towards the court using my phone as a flashlight and I see it! WHEW! My heart rate starts to go back down and in my head I'm like "I KNEW IT WAS GONNA BE HERE!" Thank you God! I really didn't need that hassle... I was definitely thrown off of my game, the stupid distraction of the lights going out on us forcing us to leave 15 minutes early had set me on a new track and I wasn't thinking. We can't let distractions be like a stones thrown into the water. The ripples might not always be so minor as almost losing one's pocketbook! Enough about last night. Today we are heading to Green Bliss, for a Blissful Cinnamon roll breakfast treat. Then taking Dominic to his Saturday classes, Cosette to her Girl Scouts Red Carpet Movie Screening event, and squeezing in my much needed Mani/Pedi. Hopefully after all of that I'll finally make some time to go to the bookstore before dinner! Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend and hope to catch you back here tomorrow! -T |
