Greetings from Honduras! And Happy Independence Day back home!!

What the Heck am I doing here?
I don’t recall Honduras being on my list of places to go - and yet here I am! Life is sure crazy like that!
As the ship had pulled into tender this morning we stood out on the balcony and couldn’t help but notice how "oh so beautiful" this island was. Full of lush tropical green hills. All of which will be posted about once we get out there and explore!
This is also not quite anything like yesterday while at Grand Cayman - which wasn’t really at all lush and was a narrow strip of land of which from our cabin we could see clear across the entire island and to the other side.

Soon enough it would be time for us to jump aboard our tour bus and head out to the famed seven mile beach. But first we'd go down for some brekkie.

Being that we were at tender, we'd have to hop on a tender boat to get us over to the shore (which wasn't all that far).

With its powdered sugary soft sand and beautiful crystal clear calm waters - it was calling to me…and while we all know that I’m not quite what one would consider a huge beach fan, I was eager to don my swimwear and get on into the water!

I really cannot tell you the last time that I had done that. Nor can I tell you how enjoyable it was.
I don’t really even go into the swimming pool with the kids and there I was out in the Caribbean Sea splashing around with my kiddos.

Ahhhh it was lovely and I was in no hurry to leave, but eventually we had to. It was time to tour the highlights of Grand Cayman and to go to HELL!
Yup that is where we were heading and not figuratively, we were really going to HELL.

On the way to Hell, we passed the Old Homestead which the locals claim looks like a Gingerbread house - I didn't quite see that image myself.
And then we arrived. Dave was excited to get and mail a postcard with a postmark from Hell!
Hell is named because of a group of unique jagged, spongy pinnacles of black-covered limestone that roughly cover the size of half a football field.

Iguanas are also just about everywhere - so watch where you step!
During our time of the island we were also sure to check out the Tortuga Rum Co. and buys some gifts to bring back home.
At the end of the day when we were back on the ship we were able to say that we'd been to Hell and back, and it would be true!
Now it's time to check out Honduras and I'll report back to you in the next post.
