New Travel Blog Series and Lasagna?Nice to have you back here! I hope your week started off great yesterday! I had a very nice and peaceful day. Got a ton of writing accomplished for features to be posted while I'm traveling through Italy. Our Throwback Thursdays is one of our favorite things to write here on the Travelin' Cousins site. With so many trips from our combined pasts, sometimes we don't know which to write about! This week, Tanya and I came up with a great idea. We are going to intermittently do a travel series on adventure trips that we've taken where we can bring you into the daily action and happenings. To start with, I will be doing a special travel series on my Throwback China Trip Adventure (circa 1991). I expect this to be made up of at least 5 or 6 parts. It will be posted on my alternating Throwback Thursdays beginning August 14th with lots and lots of photographs. We are so excited about adding this kind of day by day account of our most exciting trips. I will leave it to Tanya to tell you which exciting throwback trip she will be featuring in a travel series! I'm actually not sure what I'm going to do today. I had two thoughts. The first is to do some bike riding first thing and then come back and work on reviewing expenses for my upcoming Italy trip, and then watch my Rick Steves 2-disc Italy travel video. The second option is to head out after my bike ride to the Long Island Maritime Museum in Sayville. It's still very early and a mystery to me what I'm going to do, so I'll let you now tomorrow what I decided! Have you check out Tanya & Elisa's New Mexico Road Trip Blog lately? Well, be sure to check it out today for Part 11: A Day of Sights in Taos (Day 4 of trip). Hope you are enjoying this day by day detailed plan of our October 2014 cousins road trip! You can also check out the entire trip at-a-glance on our New Mexico Road Trip Details page. Now before I sign off, just a special note about what today is - you know how much Tanya and I love food and love to eat. Well, today, July 29th is National Lasagna Day!!! Check out this page with tons of recipes and a little bit if Lasagna trivia!! Let us know if you decided to celebrate today by partaking in a scrumptious serving of lasagna! Wishing you a terrific Tuesday! -E | July is chock-full of Birthdays!Had an awesome day sightseeing in Philadelphia yesterday. Started out with a huge Strawberry French Toast breakfast ~ Following breakfast, with our very full bellies we headed over to Independence Hall for our 12pm tour. Kinda crazy to think that we were standing in the same room as our Founding Fathers! We also spent the day seeing/touring the B. Free Post Office, the Printing Office & Bindery, the Betsy Ross house, stepping back in time and walking down Efreth's Alley, exploring the Benjaman Franklin museum (which was pretty darn cool), and then came the time that we had to bid farewell to Dave B as he headed back to LAX. Now here we are on Tuesday morning and by the time you are reading this we too will be flying to LAX as well (what a silly schedule!) Up up and away! We're going back to Cali, and to the little clan! We chose today to head back to Cali because it is Dave C's birthday! Happy Birthday Dave! I kinda doubt that he made any exciting plans for the day. So, I'm pretty sure that the rest of my day will consist of hitting the market to fill the fridge and cabinets, cooking a special birthday dinner, working on Travelin' Tuesday with Elisa, and then I really don't know what else I'll be doing.. Betcha I'm gonna be getting sleep much earlier than usual! Seems that when I head east I can adjust to the timezone right away without an ounce of jet lag, and yet whenever I head west, I tend to get struck with it! Hope your day is filled with happiness! -T |
