Another day in the life
Greetings Folks! Happy Saturday!
We are literally on the road and heading to San Diego - but just for the day to celebrate Dave C's birthday!
Earlier this year we celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday!
According to the website LaJolla.com:
Theodor Geisel, affectionately known as Dr. Seuss, remains one of the biggest names in children’s books today. Geisel and his wife moved to La Jolla in 1953, where they bought an old observation tower high atop Mt. Soledad. It was tucked away in “The Tower” that he wrote many of his most beloved and popular stories, including “Horton Hears a Who!,” “The Cat in the Hat,” “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and “Green Eggs and Ham.” He lived on Mt. Soledad until he passed away in 1991, and his works of art are sprinkled with elements of La Jolla – from the trees that line the coast to the iconic spires of a famous Coronado hotel.
We'll be heading to both La Jolla and to the historic Coronado Hotel - guess it's our Dr. Seuss Day!

Along with many other things that we'll be doing one of our many stops today happens to be Legends Gallery in La Jolla, which features The Art of Dr. Seuss.

As far as yesterday went there was much cleaning and organizing for me. We also took the kiddos to rehearse for the CD that they will be recording up in Idaho.
Since I didn't have any meetings while the kids were rehearsing Dave and I went over to the book store and I continued studying up on our Spring trip to Poland/Germany/Etc and had decided to pick up at least one of the books that I've been eyeing.

After picking up the kids we had planned on stopping at the Anti-Dairy Ice Cream shoppe Hug Life in Garden Grove. This lovely and most delicious little shoppe has sure come a long way from the early days when they first opened (less than a year ago, we were amongst some of their first customers - getting to know the owners.
Sadly it's been a while since we were able to regularly visit - as they were closed on Mondays for a while. But we visited last night and the ice creams seemed to taste even better than in the past - if that was possible!
We were also lucky to catch up with one of the owners and chat for a bit about the possibility of some exciting news!

Anyhow we kicked off the weekend with ice cream and that definitely gave us a sweet start!
