Well here I am sitting in a McDonalds Parking Lot - I won't ever eat here, but I don't mind using their toilets and wifi! - Don't judge!
We are just outside of Dover, Deleware. So I guess a GREETINGS from Dover is in order!
Anyhow folks this is the last partial day of our trip. We are heading back to New York (from Virginia) and tonight we will be taking our flight back to San Diego where Birdwald Ponypants will be picking us up and taking us back home to Anaheim Hills.
TODAY also happens to be Dave C's birthday so we wish him a BIG Happy Birthday from the road.
And then hopefully we can wish him a Happy Birthday in person before the night is officially over (Pacific time that is)! But that will be rather tight.
Still in Virginia until this morning and yesterday was full of family fun, we hung out with the kids Grandma Bea, their Uncle Jack, and Cousin Kali (with brief appearances by their Uncle Nestor, Aunt Lynn, "Uncle" Dan, and little Aiden).
We had went out for a lovely Pho lunch we were all quite PHULL, when we were done and then we were off to Ocean Breeze Waterpark...
But before getting there it had been decided instead to go to the swimming pool and then over to Cloud 9. The kids had some fun in the pool, but it was at Cloud 9 where the kids had an ABSOLUTE BLAST!
They bounced and jumped and ran and sprung, it looked like so much fun and I REALLY wish that I could've joined them out there.
But due to the condition of my knees - I cannot do any rebounding sports. Otherwise I fold over and crumble to the ground. It's sad I know. But I did joke around with the kids telling them that I was going to play with them and they both looked at me like I had two heads, because they've witnessed me fold over and crumble to the ground.
I was really happy enough just watching them have a good time!
By the time we got back, it was time to pack up, and get ready for bed. While in the bathroom I spotted a waterbug and my reaction was to scream and jump onto the toilet seat! Cosette and the kids had heard my scream and wondered what was going on...I reached over and opened the door.
This is how they found me!
The kids just weren't ready for bed, and had goofed around until 3am - good thing thing they aren't the drivers!
So, once we are back in NY we will be well over 4,000 miles since starting the driving portion of this summer trip and then after another 3,000 miles in the sky we will be back to Cali for a little while at least - 9 Days to be exact!
So, I best be getting back on the road and I'll catch ya back here from Cali tomorrow! -T

W2GW - Outdoors Under the Stars
Good day folks!!! Can't believe how fast hump day arrived.
And of course, it's also W2GW (Where to Go Wednesday) here at Travelin' Cousins.
I was thinking about what to talk about today and it dawned on me that one of the "funnest" things to do in the summer is to sit under the stars outdoors and be entertained.
Don't you just love when the weather is warm; the breeze is blowing lightly and you are able to hang out and enjoy the night air? Long Island can be quite magical and lovely at night in the Summer.
And what is more relaxing than outdoor movies and music!!
Here are a few great nighttime options for you to grab your honey, your kids or your besties for a fun night out during this month and next...
Outdoor Movies... Movies on the Harbor every Tuesday night in Port Jefferson, another movie is shown. All you need to do is bring some food and a blanket. The movies are all family friendly and totally free. (August 19th is Frozen).
Today, I am continuing my marble search. I struck out at 4 places yesterday, BUT, I got it on good authority yesterday from "Nick" (one of the proprietors of a marble dealers I strolled into) that there is a another marble supplier nearby that, he believes, will carry the colors I need. Fingers crossed!!
Yesterday, I got most of my errands done successfully and I ended the day with Gianna and Kelsey, heading to the mall to find Kelsey some new sneaks. (which I'm happy to report, we did find a pair for her - this kid is 8, short and tiny and a size 2 foot already!! WTH?)
(Just an aside...A.D.D. girl is back - I'm sitting in Starbucks and they are playing the best music!! I don't know how many Frank Sinatra fans I have out there, but Night & Day by Ole Blue Eyes is on right now and I'm just loving it!!) So, back to the mall trip yesterday - Kelsey hadn't eaten much at her friends house, so we decided to go to dinner first. Headed to Season's 52, which I really wish I hadn't - for some reason the flatbread pizza was a little too heavy for me... or it could have been the Pecan Pie dessert - who knows.

Anyway, Danielle texted me to tell me she was also at the mall, together with our childhood friend Teresa, so me and the girlies caught up with them.
We hung out at the new Food Court at the Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City (which is rocking'!!), and had some of the heartiest laughs I've had in a while. Now that I'm thinking of it, the "unable-to-breathe" laughing could have caused the stomach ache I had later in the evening.
Danielle and I were entertaining Teresa (and my girls) with stories of vacations that we sisters took together and alone, from our younger days. My sister is one of the best storytellers I know and when she starts going, I just get hysterical. The tears were flowing from laughter and I think the kids now think their mother and their aunt are nuts (that is, if they didn't already think that!).

Off to the marble place. Catch up with you tomorrow for Throwback Thursday!!
