Sunbathing and 4 Generations of Pasta Makers
Happy Saturday!! A what a lovely day it is here on Long Island.
A bit hot, but I'm coming to you from Lifetime Fitness pool - blogging away under the protection of a large umbrella. I'm enjoying a very nice breeze and have a great view of the super fun giant slide!!
Gianna has been very eager to work on her savage tan and so, that is precisely what she is doing as I sit here writing.
We were up and out of the house fairly early today as we had another house showing. I'm sure hoping that one of these nice families decides to make an offer so me and my girls can get on our merry way into a new home and begin a new chapter! Last night, we headed to Seventh Street in Garden City for their Summer Weekly Promenade. It's really fun on a summer night because they close off the street, all the restaurants have outdoor seating and there is live music.
The theme this week was "Christmas in July" and there was even a snow making machine!
Me and the girls enjoyed a delicious meal at Walk Street and just took in the action all around us. The girls ordered Chicken Milanese, which is one of their all-time faves from Walk Street and I went vegan, for which the kitchen was kind to accommodate me with vegan prep of Orecchiette with spinach and tomatoes in garlic and oil. When we finished eating, we strolled around for a while listening to the band play - which, incidentally, was very good!! For your shopping pleasure - how about some yummy home made pasta? That's right - one of the oldest and best pasta shops is located in none other than The Real Little Italy in The Bronx. Borgatti's Ravioli and Egg Noodle Shop is a hop, skip and a jump over the Throgs Neck Bridge to Arthur Avenue - (actually, it's technically 187th Street) to get some of the best pasta you will ever taste. The shop is run by its third and fourth generation of the Borgatti family and have a huge variety from which to choose. However, if you are not able to make it up there - don't fear - they now take internet orders at www.borgattis.com/shop/. Read all about this wonderful family-run business in the HeartOfTheBronx.com, from your's truly, "The Bronx Traveler." Borgattis Ravioli and Egg Noodles - Four Generations Strong
