Catch-up and Errand DayWell, last night was pretty sad as we said goodbye to each other until our next get together in the Fall. Gianna and Cosette were crying; Kelsey was trying ton figure our ways that they didn't have to leave and even suggested that Cosette come with us on our trip to Italy in a little more than a week. We managed to get through it. Boy, these kids have no idea what it was like when Tanya and I were kids and didn't have things like FaceTime and iPads, iPods and text messaging. So, until our New Mexico Road trip in early October, we'll all just have to be strong till we are all together again. Today, me and the girls have a pretty full day of errands and shopping in preparation for our upcoming Italy trip. We are going to head over to the mall to get Gianna new sneaker and Kelsey some new shorts. I also have to purchase a case for my new camera. Of course, eating will be part of our little excursion today. After our errands, we will pack up the car, which will include Liberty, and head out to Remsenburg for the week, since the girls have another week of horseback riding camp. Thankfully, my clothes are all organized, so just have to pack it all up. The kids are another story, since I didn't even begin to put their things together yet. That's why I want to get the last minute shopping out of the way. So, while Tanya and her gang are headed off to a fun-filled weekend in Philadelphia, we will be bouncing around from store to store, to get all the things on my list. Not the most exciting day, but necessary. Off to the mall we go! Enjoy the want-to's and the have-to's today -- they are both part of living your life! -E | Onward to the Next CityAfter a wonderful week, the time had come to an end last night and we had to each bid our goodbyes. Memories of my childhood and saying those same goodbyes. It was a heartbreaking time for me. Watching these kids struggle to say good bye to each other, knowing that they won't see each other for another couple of months was a sad sight to see and it shot me back in time to all of those memories... As my Grandfather use to tell me: “Good night, good night! parting is such sweet sorrow, That I shall say good night till it be morrow.” - Shakespeare We started out at 6am this morning, getting on the road and heading to Newark International, where Dave B. is landing. He is here to share the weekend with us in Philadelphia. This is going to be his first visit to the city of brotherly love. Let's go touring! We'll first be making a stop to pick up some much anticipated Vegan treats at 'Vegan Treats' - an all vegan and super delicious bakery in Bethleham (about an hours drive outside of Philly). We'll then spend our afternoon doing some historic sightseeing of the Liberty Bell & Independence Hall.I'm certainly looking quite forward to dinner tonight and trying out the fairly new vegan hot spot 'Vedge'. Which was first brought to my attention when the owner/chef was on the Food Network show 'Chopped' going against 3 other non-vegan chefs, and he pulled off a win! I sure hope that Dave brought his appetite, because our plan is to do a full vegan food tour while we are in town. Guaranteed that we are each gonna have pretty full bellies by the time our extended weekend comes to an end! Hope you have a Super Saturday and find something good to fill your belly with! -T |
