Another Day of Cousins Fun in New YorkWell, hello there! I have to tell you, this has been one terrific week! Day after day, non-stop activities with family! Last night it was a cousins' theatre fest! Ten of us descended upon the New Amsterdam Theatre on 42nd Street to see Aladdin. It was lively and colorful and just plain fun! In the words of the NY Daily News, "Seriously, It's Amazing!" Because we only bought our tickets three weeks ago, we were unable to get all ten seats together Fortunately some of them were in the same row, and another several were in the row directly behind. The kids sat in two groups and me, Tanya and Danielle sat together. The kids were well behaved and captivated by the show. Stay tuned Monday for Travelin' Cousins' review. Now, I was so excited about last night, I skipped right over yesterday day. Our day was a very relaxing one and the highlight was a drive out to Farmingdale, Long Island to eat lunch at Three Brothers Pizzeria. This little joint specializes in both a full vegan and traditional menu, of Italian food. Really delish, but I will leave it to Tanya to tell you all about it on her next Foodie Friday! I'll just share some great pictures with you from our little dining adventure! Today, while Tanya and the kids are at the Yankees game and Gianna is at camp, I'm going to catch up some organizing for my upcoming Italy trip. I can't believe it's less than two weeks away! This evening, I'll be driving up to the Bronx to meet my Travelin' Cousin partner in Little Italy for a real authentic dinner following her day with the Bronx Bombers. Danielle may join us again, but only if Julian is feeling better - poor kid has an ear infection was in quite a bit of pain at Aladdin last night. Don't forget to check out Tanya's Throwback Thursdays segment today! And check back tomorrow to read all about our fun evening at "Dominicks" in "da Bronx" for my Foodie Friday feature. Hoping your day is as special as you are!! -E | Take me out to the BallgameWhat a fun week it has been so far, and yet another one that is just flying by! I can't believe that it's already Throwback Thursday! I guess it's true as the saying goes "time flies when you're having fun!" Last night all of these kiddos were nearly bursting at the seams with excitement on the ride into the city. Yet once, we exited the vehicle a calmness took over. All of a sudden the lights, the sights, and the bustle of the city had captured us all, as we became one with the energy that is The Big Apple! Our troop marched over to the theatre, snapped lots of fun pictures and then took our seats. And then as the curtain went up were each absorbed in the action that took place on stage.. If you've been keeping up with us you'd know that we went to go see Disney's Aladdin The Musical on Broadway, and as critics have said "It's Pure Genie-Us!" I won't tell you much more right now; but stay tuned on Monday for Travelin' Cousins own personal review on the show and the Tony award winner James Monroe Iglehart! As for today, we are heading to Yankee Stadium to see the Bronx Bombers at Yankee Stadium. Dressing in pin stripes, and proudly supporting my team as they play the 4th game in this series against the Texas Rangers. It'll be me, the kids, and my grandma going this afternoon. I'm hoping for good weather as we sit there and root for the home team! After the game, I'm crossing my fingers that my grandma doesn't insist on going home, as we have a fun dinner planned at Dominck's on Arthur Avenue! Elisa and the girls are coming out, and if poor little Julian is feeling better with his ear ache then Danielle and the boys will make it too! Well, it's time that I go finish writing the amusing Throwback Thursday story "About to starve in the Jungle". I'll see you back here again tomorrow, for some Foodie Friday Fun! -T |
