Aladdin with the CousinsWow!!! What a cousins day yesterday was!!! A big, family day all around. Starting off with a little reunion in the morning. The kids were so excited to see each other since the last time was in April. I let Gianna play hooky from camp to spend the day with Cosette and Dominic. It was also nice to see Tanya's Dad and Grandma again, after over 30 years!! Our first outing of the day was to Brooklyn for a visit to Dun-Well Donuts. I finally got that Donut Sundae I've been craving! Thanks to Tanya for introducing us to this wonderful sweet shop!! The afternoon was spent at the Garden City pool and boy did the kids have fun splashing and racing down the slide for hours! Tanya and I spent that time catching up, chatting it up, laughing and working out some strategies for expanding Travelin' Cousins! Now, today, we have another fun cousins day planned! Cosette spent the night at my house for a sleepover last night, and it was so nice seeing the girls all together this morning. Tanya arrived very early after dropping off Dave C at the airport and although I told her to text me when she was back at my house, I obviously didn't hear the text in my deep sleep. I awoke to my alarm at 7am and only then saw that she had been sitting in my driveway for an hour! I felt so bad! It seemed a bit surreal to be sitting together in person writing our Daily this morning! We'll be heading out for lunch later the afternoon on in Farmingdale at 3 Brothers Pizzeria. However the fun will begin later int he evening when we all head into NYC to see Aladdin on Broadway!! Ahhh Just another cousins day together!! So happy! Hope your day is wonderful! Till Tomorrow, -E | A night at the TheatreToday started much earlier than usual for me, I had to wake up at 4:45am and get on the road, in order to get Dave C to Kennedy airport. His visiting is now over, and he's on his way back to the West Coast. Safe Travels! Last night, Elisa and I decided that it made more sense for me to come straight to her house after the airport run (rather than back track to my Grandma's). Being that I was coming over here anyhow for another full day of cousin fun! I arrived shortly after 6am to find everyone still in their slumber, and waited in my car (dozing off). When Elisa woke up and realized, she let us in right away! At this point napping was a good idea; otherwise I might have had a night full of head bopping during ALADDIN - and I definitely was to be wide awake and enjoy the highly acclaimed show! We are all looking forward to our evening in the Big Apple. There are 10 of us cousins going, and it will definitely be a night to remember! The cousins fun actually began yesterday morning when Elisa and the girls met me and the kids at my grandma's house! It was a day full of reunions! Elisa hadn't seen my grandma or dad in over 30 years and I hadn't seen Elisa's parents (my Aunt Camille & Uncle George) in that same 3 decade period! After the brief reunion at my grandma's, we are carpooled over to Dun Well Doughnuts for lots of sweet treats! Next we were off to Garden City for an afternoon full of water fun at the pool! Where the kids played for hours and we hung out laughing and reminiscing, while keeping an eye on them. And finally the evening that we were all waiting for...the reunion between me and my aunt & uncle! What a wonderful night it was! Story telling, laughs, and lots of catching up! |
