Tanya's Daily Scoop
NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: 2 DAYS

Great fun at the Great American Ballpark!

Hey Folks, I'm on the road again!

Yup you'll be seeing plenty of me from the road for the next remaining couple of weeks that we are visiting the east coast before heading back to SoCal. I'm talking miles upon miles and miles..
Picture
On the road...
I dropped Dave off at the airport early this morning and Dominic and I have been on the road even since!
Picture
This 'Stache was at the airport!
So far I'm on my second pitstop - because I was getting restless (a sign of my lack of sleep last night).

And being that I would never drive while drowsy; I already took one nap and now like I said, I am on my second break...
Which is very unlike me - because when I am fully recharged - I prefer fewer stops.
BUT safety is always number one and that's the way it'll always be!

The reason that we got a short night last night was because we were coming off of a very full and exciting day in the Queen City (Cincinnati).

As you know, we were there for the 86th Annual MLB ALL STAR GAME and it was all quite a blast!
Picture
However not without DRAMA...
Yesterday started with a HUGE mess up regarding our tickets for the game...can you imagine getting an email on game day notifing you that there was a problem issuing your tickets, then calling to find out that your tickets were sold to someone else?!?!
How's that for stress???

If you know baseball, and you know the going rate for ALL STAR GAME tickets, then you know that we are not talking cheap tickets here!
And then to have to shop for them on game day when the prices have went up - well that is just not recommended!!!

Luckily after stressing a while, but not allowing it to delay anything else in the day I found new tickets and jumped on them!
As the saying goes "All's well, that ends well!"

The rest of the day was filled with yummy food finds, cool Queen City Murals, Red Carpet Parade Fun, Statue Hunting, not remembering where we parked...
"Dude where's my car???", and lots-o-lots of
ALL STAR GAME festivities!

I luv parades!!!

It was another successful day on the road trip and now we are looking forward to heading back to my Cosettie, Elisa and the girls, hopefully I make it in time to get my darn nails done!
And then to my Grandma's for more visiting...

I've got plenty of writing to do, as I'm up to the plate for TBT tomorrow, and will be posting more about the MLB ALL STAR WEEK!

Ready for the game!

And lastly, let's not forget that today is W2GW (Where to go Wednesday), and although I haven't had the time to prepare anything for my column, Elisa did an EXCELLENT job at listing some fun stuff on her side...Check it out --->>>--->>>

Ok, gotta get back on the road!

Catch ya from NYC tomorrow...

Cheerio,
-T

NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: 2 DAYS

W2GW in Toronto

Hello Peeps!
Picture
How has your week been going?  Mine's been good.  Yesterday, I drove out to West Hampton with the three girls (Gianna, Kelsey and Cosette).

The whole reason we went out there was because the weather was "supposed" to be really nice versus the weather in Nassau County which was "supposed" to be rainy and gross.

The kids wanted to go swimming in the pool, and so I figured taking an hour drive out east for the day would be perfect.

Unfortunately, after a quick lunch in West Hampton, the sky started to look very threatening.  I thought as long as it wasn't raining, the kids could go swimming.  So, the girls got on their swimsuits, grabbed towels and the minute they got outside, the heaven's opened and there was an awful downpour!!!

It was actually quite funny, the timing of it all!

Thankfully, after the storm, the sun made an appearance and an early evening - pre-dinner swim was in the cards after all.

I need to rant briefly.  I'm not sure if you could relate but I pride myself on being exceptionally organized and keeping a neat and orderly home.

If there is one thing I utterly despise - it's clutter of any kind, but specially, clutter on my countertops!!!

It is the one thing that literally drives me insane and can cause me to become unglued!  I just don't understand why some people insist on lining their counter space, whether it be in the kitchen or the bathroom or any other room for that matter, with "stuff!"

I like to have a "home" for everything - somewhere out of sight - a cabinet, a drawer, a well hidden shelf.  But, there is just no reason to have all kinds of crap lying out in plain sight to detract from an otherwise lovely home and thus, creating a big, ugly EYESORE!!

Picture
I'm also a big proponent of getting rid of S*%$ that serves no purpose or is not needed anymore.

Aside from clutter in plain sight - the second worst thing for me is when cabinets and drawers are used as garbage dumps for stuff that should otherwise be thrown out!!

I spend so much time organizing all of my drawers and cabinets so that things are easily accessible and orderly.  I have been accused of being like the psycho misogynistic wife abuser in Sleeping with the Enemy because of how orderly I like to keep my closets and cabinets - they are even labeled!

So, when I open up a drawer that I painstakingly worked to organized only to find out it looks like something out of Fred Sanford's garage, I get pissed!!!

I think I've vented enough about my experience at my Hampton House yesterday.  Fortunately, I dumped, hauled and reorganized in a jiffy - I dare anyone to mess it up again! GRRRRR

Anyway after I finished organizing, I was STARVING for junk food.  So were the kiddies.  So, I ran out to the deli and did something I NEVER do.

I bought a potpourri of unhealthy snacks - potato chips in all flavors!!
Picture
W2GW...Lest we forgot, it is Wednesday, when we share our "Where to Go" feature.
I thought since Tanya and I are headed up to Canada this week - Toronto specifically - I thought i would share a few DELECTABLE FOOD FESTIVALS slated for the coming months should you be heading up this way.

Waterfront Night Market @ T&T Supermarket
August 14-16, 2015
22 Cherry Street, Downtown Toronto, Port Lands
www.waterfrontnightmarket.com

The Night Market boasts over 100 vendors offering a variety of Asian Food in this, its 5th Year!  There are also other attractions and live performances to enjoy!

Krinos Taste of Danforth
August 7-9, 2015
Greektown on the Danforth BIA
#201 – 699 Danforth Avenue
Toronto
 www.tasteofthedanforth.com

The Krinos Taste of the Danforth is Canada’s largest street Festival, with over 1.6 million attendees annually!

Located in Greektown, 2015 will mark the 22nd anniversary for this Festival, which has a full schedule of entertainment events and performances. And of course, lots of wonderful Greek food!

Seriously, how fun does this event look!! Check out the official trailer:

Vegetarian Food Festival @ Harbourfront Centre
September 11th-13th, 2015
Harbourfront Centre
235 Queen’s Quay West
Toronto

www.vegfoodfest.com

I was totally stoked for this food festival amidst all the meat food festivals!

From burgers to hot dogs to cupcakes, everything is entirely meat and dairy free!  This is right up The Travelin' Cousins alley!!

Vegetarian Food Festival is happening at the Harbourfront Centre, and it is the biggest event of its kind in North America, celebrating its 31st year this summer. (ok, so it's  not really Summer - it's technically after the kiddies have gone back to school).

I'm looking forward to seeing my bestie cuz later today! She'll be heading back to New York after her road trip to the All-Star Game.

Please check out Tanya's Blog to hear all about her day yesterday at the game!!!

Here's to a great Hump Day!!
See ya back here tomorrow!!
